EMI2.2
Viscosity, but usually over 50%.
After the solvent has dried, the layer consisting of a colored natural or synthetic rubber composition can be converted into hard rubber by heating it in the air or, advantageously, in an inert atmosphere for about two hours to a temperature at which the fabric strip is still due to the heat is not attacked. The treatment temperature depends on the duration of the treatment and is about 140-150 C when the vulcanization time is about two hours. If a flexible metal wire or metal strip is used instead of a strip of fabric, the amount of accelerator in the above composition can be reduced and the temperature can be increased, whereby the duration of the vulcanization is shortened.
The non-metallic coating can be applied in a single operation or multiple coats can be applied until the desired thickness is achieved. The rubber composition can be applied electrically.
The composition of the rubber solution or the latex composition can be such that, after vulcanization has taken place, a soft, semi-hard or hard, ebonite-like coating is achieved. The rubber content in the compositions can fluctuate within the usual limits.
If it is a question of closures that are not subject to heavy use, for example handbag closures, a self-vulcanizing composition is sufficient, which contains raw chewing cheek or latex and is left to rest for a few days at room temperature. Compounded latex produced from natural or concentrated or artificial rubber milk can be used instead of a chewing mixture.
A thin coating of an adhesive can be used as a binder between the metal and the rubber coating. For example, those products are suitable for this purpose, which

and synthetic resins can be added to the chewing chewing composition in addition to all the fillers or reinforcing fillers customary in the production of chewing chewing fillers.
PATENT CLAIMS:
1. Zipper, characterized in that its metal parts are completely or partially provided with a coating of a non-metallic substance or composition that adheres to the metal, is tough in its final state and does not crumble.
