Thread and method of making the same.
Threads which consist of a thread core (thread, yarn or roving core) and a pile tape enveloping the core on all sides are already known. In the manufacture of these known threads, the core threads are fed to the pile divider on the inlet side, u. between a core thread in the middle of each roving tape; the core thread simply moves back and forth on the roving tape under the constant influence of the pair of nitheets, with the roving material being rubbed on the incoming core threads. This results in a very poor, uncomfortable connection between the core thread and the roving material, so that the roving material can be pushed off the core thread with light finger pressure.
The thread according to the invention is different from the known, described thread manufactured in such a way that the core threads are inserted on the inlet side of the pile divider at the edge of the roving tape, the Nitschel mechanism being operated in such a way that it only moves the pile in one direction winds on the core, while the lower and upper trousers are lifted from each other as they fall back, creating a thread in which the pile tape surrounds the core in several spiral-shaped layers.
The drawing shows an embodiment of the subject matter of the invention; Fig. 1 shows the introduction of the core thread, Fig. 2 illustrates the cross section through the thread, while Fig. 3 shows a diagram of the manufacture of the thread.
In the drawing, a denotes the thread core and b denotes the pile tape which surrounds the core in several spiral-shaped layers.
The thread is manufactured in such a way that the core thread a is introduced on the inlet side of the pile divider c at the edge of the pile tape b. The Nitschelwerk d is operated in such a way that it only winds the pile on the core when it is moved in one direction, while the lower and upper trousers are lifted from one another when it is moved back. This achieves an extraordinarily good binding and wrapping of the core thread; the pile tape surrounds the thread core in a spiral shape in several layers so that it can hardly be removed from the core thread; this significantly increases the durability of the thread.
PATENT CLAIMS:
1. Thread, which consists of a thread core (thread, thread or roving core) and a pile tape enveloping the core on all sides, characterized in that the pile tape surrounds the core in several spirally arranged layers.
