Method and device for the interference-free reception of electrical waves.
It is known to counteract the sum of the signal and the disturbance signals on the one hand and the disturbance signals alone on the other hand in such a way that the latter are weakened when receiving electrical waves for disturbance-free purposes in one and the same circle. It was also proposed not to bring these vibrations directly, but rather vibrations derived from them by frequency conversion to the desired counteraction. All known methods and circuits of this type cause a detuning between the circle that receives both the signal and the interfering characters and the circuit that only receives the interfering characters.
This frequency difference persists even after any conversion of the frequencies and has the consequence that the interference-suppressing counter-circuit works imperfectly.
With the present invention it is now possible to achieve complete interference suppression by counter-switching by applying the so-called "modulation transmission to a local oscillation of fixed frequency" method to bring oscillations of the same frequency into interference-suppressing counteraction. The method according to the invention therefore exists in that received signals and interference signals on the one hand, and only interference signals on the other hand, are converted into oscillations of the spatial frequency using the method of modulation transmission, whereby a mutual weakening or cancellation of the interfering components of these two oscillations is brought about by recording them in antiphase in a common output circuit.
The method of transferring the modulation of an incoming vibration of any frequency to any local vibration of a fixed frequency can be carried out as described in patent no. According to this, the frequency conversion can take place by utilizing the curvature of a tube characteristic (curvature of the anode or grid current characteristic) by applying the sum S sin Q t + H sin ru t of the S (oscillation of the incoming signal and the local oscillation) to an electrode of the tube.
The same result is also obtained if the two oscillations 8 sin Q t and H sin Q) t are fed to two different electrodes in one and the same tube, as is also indicated in the patent mentioned.
In the drawing, Fig. 1 shows an embodiment of a device that operates according to this method, u. A three-grid tube is shown with a control grid 1, a screen grid 2 and a suppressor electrode. 3 (suppressor "). The incoming wave, i.e. the received signal, is fed to the grid 1 via the circle A, which receives such a negative bias voltage by means of the voltage source B that the desired working area is reached on the curve of the anode characteristic is made to oscillate with the spatial frequency ru via its lattice circle by a loose coupling with the anode circle, which is indicated in the figure at C.

Circuit E, tuned to the frequency ru, draws a voltage J2 sin (o t, which has the fixed frequency ro and the modulation of the received signal.
In order to explain the essence of the present invention using an exemplary embodiment, a circuit with two symmetrically arranged tubes I and II is shown in FIG.

The relationship between this circuit and that of FIG. 1 is indicated by the same designation of analog parts. Let us first consider the effect of a disturbance on the arrangement of FIG. In general, a perturbation which acts on a circuit which has the natural oscillation frequency 9 turns out to be an oscillation of the form Pe-a. I sin 9 represents t, where <x denotes a decrement of damping.
If a circuit tuned to the frequency 9 is connected to the grid 1 of the tube I, this circle will be the seat of an interfering oscillation Pss "'sin sin 9 t. On the other hand, if the grid 1 of the tube 11 is a circuit tuned to the frequency 91 Circle connected, where 91 is adjacent to 9, but far enough away from this frequency to make the circle tuned to 91 insensitive to waves of frequency 9, this circle tuned to 91 becomes the seat of an interference

Circles has the same value.
If these conditions are met and a locally generated oscillation of frequency CI) is fed to both tubes in the same way as in FIG. 1, one obtains in the circuit tuned to CI) and coupled to the anode circuits of both tubes if this coupling is in one of Anode

the disturbing effects, d. H. the disturbing oscillations in output circuit E cancel each other out.
The incoming wave (received signal) of the frequency 9, however, is only on the grid circle of
The grid 1 'of the tube I act, since only this is tuned to the frequency 9, and will have no influence on the analog grid circle of the tube II, tuned to 91. As in the case of FIG. 1, the incoming received wave therefore gives rise to an oscillation of the form sin 9 t in the output circuit.
