  Holzbalken.

  Wooden beams.

Patent No. 142450 protects a hollow wooden beam made of boards, the cavity of which is divided into cells so small by numerous transverse boards that the air enclosed in it remains immobile, thereby increasing the insulating effect of the beam. According to the invention, a further increase in the insulating capacity of such beams is achieved in that the cells delimited by their outer walls and the transverse boards are further subdivided into numerous rooms by inserts made of boards, which only make up a fraction of the volume of the cell.

In the drawing, part of an embodiment of a beam according to the invention is shown in FIGS. 1 and 2 in a transverse or. Longitudinal section and shown diagrammatically in FIG. 3.
 EMI1.1
with one or more of the cell walls, e.g. B. is connected to a cross board. The dividing boards can also be laid in any other layout, for example fan-shaped, honeycomb-like or according to any other layout; It is essential that they divide the cell room into further small, self-contained rooms.
