    Earthquake-proof foundation for buildings.

There are well known devices on buildings that are supposed to protect against earthquakes, but these are inadequate because they only take into account horizontal displacements and vibrations.

The present invention relates to measures for absorbing vertical shocks and vibrations and for rendering cracks and crevices and depressions in the ground harmless.

The drawing shows a cross section through a basic structure according to the invention and a top view of it.

The installation consists essentially in the fact that instead of the foundation walls, a reinforced concrete structure with a conical outer surface is set. In this four or more (depending on the size of the house to be built) hollow columns or pillars are arranged, which are rigidly connected to the rotunda (Fig. 2). Strong buffer springs are arranged in the cavity of the columns, on which the grate supporting the building rests resiliently so that the vertical shocks and vibrations are absorbed and weakened (Fig. 1). The columns can be connected to one another by reinforced concrete sectors.

   PATENT CLAIMS:
1. Earthquake-proof foundation for buildings, characterized in that the grate supporting the building is mounted on buffer springs arranged in hollow columns closed at the bottom and the columns are rigidly connected to one another to form a circular structure.
