Distanz- Schutzeinrichtung.

<Desc/Clms Page number 2>

Distance protection device.
Distance protective devices, which work true to distance both in the event of a short circuit and a double earth fault, are already known. In these devices, depending on whether one or the other of these two fault cases is present, the voltage between the diseased phases or between one of the diseased phases and earth is applied to the relevant distance measuring elements. Such an arrangement has the disadvantage that, on the one hand, the presence of a double earth fault must be determined by a separate relay element, and, on the other hand, contacts etc. are necessary for switching the voltage.
These disadvantages are avoided in the device according to the invention. It is based on the knowledge that, even in the event of short circuits, an approximately true-to-distance mapping by means of a

Errors that are caused by using the incorrect voltage quantity are then more or less canceled out by the influence of the changed phase angle f.
The distance protection device according to the invention accordingly consists in the fact that a voltage between one of the diseased phases and earth is applied to the relevant distance measuring element even in the event of short circuits, which lags the corresponding chained voltage that is true to distance and that the distance measuring element is designed with a corresponding dependence on the phase angle. The

will. The phase currents and the voltages to earth associated with these phases can then be fed to the distance relays, for example. In all short-circuit cases, as a result of the presence of three distance relays, the requirement is met that at least one of the distance relays is influenced by one of the earth voltages lagging behind the chained voltage that is true to the distance.
The distance protection according to the invention can be designed with particular advantage in such a way that only two distance relays are required. The requirement that the phase-to-earth voltage used must lag behind the voltage that is true to distance then leads to certain difficulties. However, this can be remedied according to the invention in such a way that one distance relay 1 is excited by the one phase current JR and, in the activated state, by the voltage of this phase to earth, while the second distance relay 2 is excited by the sum of two phase currents JR + JT and by the sum of the voltage of phase T to earth wn and the voltage effective in relay 1 is excited.

According to a further inventive concept, such an arrangement is implemented in such a way that the starter element of the distance relay 1 receives two voltage contacts and that of the relay 2 also receives two voltage contacts. The voltage path of the relay 2 is then switched to the voltage contact 8 of the relay 2 on the one hand and to V on the other hand through the changeover contact 7 of the relay 1 in the non-addressed state. When relay 1 responds, the former contact 7 switches to earth, the latter to the voltage U. The contact of relay 2, when activated, causes the connection to the voltage TV.
Such an arrangement is shown in FIG. 2, in which 1 and 2 represent the distance relays, 3 and -1 the S rom converter, 5 the voltage converter, 6 and 7 the voltage contacts of the relay 1, 8 and 9 represent that of the relay 2. When relay 1 responds alone, the voltage path of relay 1 is therefore applied to the voltage un by means of contact 6; When relay 2 alone responds, whichever case corresponds to a double earth fault between phases ST or RT or a short circuit ST, the voltage path of this relay receives voltage 10 via contact 7 and contact 8 on the one hand, and voltage n via contact 9 on the other. This corresponds to the correct influence for these error cases by the current sum JR + JT and by the voltage 1On.
If both distance relays respond, the voltage path of relay 1 again receives the voltage uit, while that of relay 2 now receives the voltage M via the actuated contact 7 on the one hand, and the voltage via contact 9 on the other, which in turn corresponds to the correct mode of operation in this short-circuit case .
According to a further idea of the invention, this circuit can also be implemented with only one voltage contact per dis (ance relay. It is then necessary to use an auxiliary voltage converter whose primary side is parallel to the voltage path of relay 1 and its secondary cables in series with the voltage path of the relay 2. The voltage contact of relay 1 is designed as a change-over contact and is switched in such a way that the primary
