Protective ring that can be attached to the shaving brush.

The invention relates to a protective ring that can be attached to the shaving brush and consists in the fact that the ring made of absorbent material is self-contained and elastic-stretchable, its width being dimensioned such that the water trickling down from the brush is safely caught.

The purpose of the protective ring according to the invention is to prevent the annoying trickle of water and soap scum onto the hand guiding the brush during soaping. At the same time, when the ring is pushed onto the bristles above the shaving brush handle, the rigidity of the shaving brush can be individually adjusted. Cushions for shaving brushes have already become known which are to be tied to the neck of the shaving brush by means of a cord. However, these have the disadvantage that they are difficult to adapt to the changing diameter of the shaving brush and that the cord exposed to the influence of moisture becomes loose in a short time, which results in the ring falling off.

The brush ring according to the invention now remedies these inconveniences. It consists of an elastic and absorbent non-sliding material such as sponge rubber and has an opening in the middle that allows it to be attached to the bristle neck just above the brush handle (FIGS. 1 and 2). Due to the absorbency of the material and the corresponding dimensioning of the width of the ring, it is achieved that the running water or the running lather is safely caught and absorbed. The stiffness of the bristles is easily regulated by pushing the brush ring up or down, as required. The protective ring does not need to be removed for cleaning, it is done at the same time as washing out the brush.
