Description
<Desc/Clms Page number 1>
Verfahren zur Herstellung von Hochvakuumentladungsröhren.
EMI1.1
<Desc/Clms Page number 2>

Catching material coverings produced according to the method according to the invention have even better properties with regard to their gas-binding effect during operation of the tube than catching material coverings which have been evaporated through a noble gas atmosphere.
Whether the method according to the invention has been used can be checked on finished tubes in the following way:
A certain amount of queek silver vapor is let into the tube. The mercury is amalgamated with the active metal of the trapping material, so that the captured gases are released again and can be pumped out. By weighing and analyzing these gases you can now determine how the getter layer was applied.
PATENT CLAIMS:
1. A method for producing a highly evacuated discharge tube in which a gas-binding substance is evaporated through a gas atmosphere which is developed in the already melted tube itself, characterized in that the gas atmosphere is bound by the vaporized gas-binding substance.
