Österreichische PATENTSCHRIFT N 16418. TITO LIVIO CARBONE IN GRUNEWALD BEI BERLIN.

   Bogenlampe.

Austrian PATENT LETTERING N 16418. TITO LIVIO CARBONE IN GRUNEWALD NEAR BERLIN.

   Arc lamp.

The present invention relates to an embodiment of the arc lamp described in the main patent No. 13985, in which two carbon rods forming the upper electrode and inclined at an acute angle to each other by means of clamping jaws, articulated arms and sliding plate at their upper ends of three rods and at their lower ends Ends are passed through a foot attached to said rods, while the lower electrode, which consists of only a single carbon rod, is connected to the sliding plate of the upper carbon by means of rollers and flexible bands. According to the main patent, the lower electrode is carried by a curved rod which in turn is suspended from the smaller of the two rollers.

There you have the grievance. that the lower part of the stick gives a shadow. In order to remedy this problem, according to the present invention, the lower carbon is inserted into a bell jar and the latter is hung on an oeit rod which does not come into the area of the arc even when the bell jar is in its lowest position. The new arrangement has been shown on the adjacent drawing Fig.! shows the new embodiment of the lamp in side view.

Fig. 2 shows the slotted guide tube for the slide rod carrying the bell jar. Between the support plate 1 and the foot plate 6, which are connected by the guide rods of the guide plate 9, the guide tube 25 is provided in which the means

At the lower end of the slide rod 31 is the support ring 32 for the bell jar 30 by means of the screw. 83 attached. The screw 38 passes through a slot 34 in the guide tube 25. The carbon rod 17, which forms the lower electrode, is inserted into the glass bell 80 through a sleeve. M used.

As a result of the arrangement described, the bell jar with the lower electrode is lifted according to the burning of the same.
