Es wurde bereits vorgeschlagen, Verbundkörper aus verschiedenartigen Stählen zu schmieden oder zu walzen. Ferner ist bekannt, von Verbundgusskörpern Scheiben abzutrennen und dieselben z. B. durch Schmieden weiterzuverarbeiten. 



   Befriedigende Ergebnisse konnten aber mit diesen Verfahren nicht erreicht werden, da ein nur von aussen wirkender Walz-oder Schmiededruck wegen der verschieden starken Verformung ein Aufreissen vorwiegend in der Übergangszone der beiden, den Verbundkörper bildenden Stähle verursachte. 



   Um ringförmige Verbundkörper einwandfrei herzustellen, werden die vom Verbundgusskörper abgetrennten Scheiben oder Ringe erfindunggemäss über einen Dorn geschmiedet. Durch diese Massnahme erhalten die Körper von innen Halt und ein Aufreissen wird wegen der nun mit genügender Gleichmässigkeit erfolgenden Verformung beider Werkstoffe mit Sicherheit vermieden.
