Device for automatically shutting off the main gas line to a burner from
Gas consumption devices
The invention relates to a device for automatically shutting off the main gas line to a burner of gas consumption devices, in which the thermostat located in the area of the gas flame to be protected is expanded by a pilot flame in such a way that a shut-off element is kept open as long as the pilot flame is burning, however closes automatically when the thermostat cools down and contracts when the pilot flame goes out.
It has already been proposed to arrange the shut-off device on the burner nozzle itself.
These known devices usually have a very complicated construction, which significantly impairs the reliability of the effect.
Subsequent installation in finished burners is hardly possible without making changes to the burners yourself.
The present invention enables a new form of embodiment with a substantial simplification in manufacture and assembly.
The progress is achieved in that the pilot flame line branches off from the nozzle itself immediately in front of the shut-off nozzle opening and leads outside the gas burner mixing tube to below a can located near the burner head, which contains the thermostat designed as a bimetal, whereby the connection from the in The bimetallic strips enclosed in the can to the shut-off device in the burner nozzle control device is also built into this pilot flame pipe.
By uniting this particular
Measures and refinements are achieved so that the device can be retrofitted without difficulty in each burner and furthermore, by installing the as
Bi-metal strips designed thermostats in a box protect the bi-metal against overheating and contamination.
Another advance is that the
Gas consumption devices can be restored to their previous usable condition at any time after removal of the device by reinserting the original burner nozzle

Stcuemngseinrichtung the shut-off device, the gas flows into the gas burner and is ignited by the pilot flame.
The shut-off device is kept open as long as the thermostat is heated by the pilot flame.
Verlösci. t for whatever reason the gas flame and thus also the pilot flame (wrong air, overflow of liquids, etc.), the thermostat is no longer heated, the bimetal strip retracts into its original position, automatically closes the shut-off device and it can go unnoticed gas can only escape through the pilot light nozzle, but this is so minimal that it cannot be dangerous. The same situation occurs if the gas tap is opened by accident, but the escaping gas should not be ignited.
After the gas has been used, the gas tap is closed, the pilot flame goes out, the thermostat cools down and, by means of the control device, automatically closes the burner nozzle through the shut-off device, which only opens again when the pilot flame is burning.
