  Cell-shaped hollow stone
Hollow stones as building elements have become known in various forms. Cell-shaped hollow blocks are also known which interlock with tongue and groove. Compared to these stones, the subject of the invention - as shown in the accompanying drawing - has significant advantages. The height of the stone according to the invention is expediently three normal brick heights, its width two normal brick widths and its length two normal brick lengths.

The hollow stone shown has on its upper side instead of the usual solid tongue two ribs c, which are formed by the two cell-forming vertical partition walls b, which approach conically upward in cross section, the latter delimiting a groove a on the underside of the brick. These ribs c have the effect that the mortar bed e of the horizontal bed joint is interrupted by the cavity delimited by the two ribs c, so that the thermal bridge formed in the usual way by the mortar bed is also avoided.

The outer walls of the hollow stone are in a known manner with preferably dovetail
 EMI1.1
In the production, in a 75% saving in mortar, since for the total volume of the hollow brick of twelve normal bricks only two thirds of four normal brick surfaces, i.e. only about three normal brick surfaces, have to be connected with mortar, furthermore in a far-reaching simplification of the work process for masonry and also in the very low supply costs due to the material savings. A special insulating capacity of the present hollow stone is given by the fact that the transverse webs are arranged offset, whereby the longest possible path is created for the heat flow and thermal bridges are avoided. The dimensions of the individual air chambers are such that no heat can circulate.

The bricklaying with the present cell-shaped hollow stone can be done by untrained workers, since a kind of tongue and groove connection ensures that the hollow stones are correctly placed and only a skilled worker can do this to lie flat.
The cell-shaped hollow stone is advantageously produced in two sizes (full format 21 x 25 x 51 cm and half format 21 x 25 x 25 cm).
In the case of corner connections, the ribs (guide strips) c on the upper bearing joint are simply knocked away from half a tile part.

The cell-shaped hollow bricks can also be combined one behind the other to form beams as ceiling bricks if the cavities at the top and bottom of the middle part of each brick are filled with reinforced concrete.

PATENT CLAIMS: l. Cell-shaped hollow stone which is provided on its upper side with a conical tongue and on its underside with a groove corresponding to this tongue, characterized in that the conical tongue is formed by two ribs (guide strips) (c) delimiting an upwardly open cavity, which interrupt the mortar bed (s) of the horizontal bed joint.
