Verfahren zur Herstellung von Riffelwalzen.
Riffelwalzen, welche z. B. in der Textilindustrie zur Erzeugung von Seidenglanz auf Baumwollgeweben u. s. w. benutzt werden, erhalten ihre Riffelung bisher durch eine ent- sprechend gravierte Molotte, durch Ätzung oder auch mit Hilfe des Sandstrahlgebläses.
Die vorliegende Erfindung hat nun ein neues Verfahren zur Herstellung solcher Riffelwalzen zum Gegenstande. Dasselbe besteht darin, dass ein walzenförmiger Grundkörper mit Draht von beliebiger Feinheit schraubenförmig bewickelt wird, derart, dass jede Drahtwindung sich dicht neben die benachbarte legt und auch ebenso dicht und fest sich auf die Walzenoberfläche auflegt.
Es empfiehlt sich zur Erreichung letzterer Bedingung, den Draht in erwärmtem Zustande auf den kalten Grundkörper aufzuziehen, wobei selbstverständlich die Zerreissfestigkeit des Wickeldrahtes zu berücksichtigen ist.
Es kann sowohl ein einfacher, als auch ein aus zwei oder mehreren feineren Drähten schnurartig verflochtener Draht zur Verwendung gelangen.
Wesentlich ist immer, dass die Wicklung eine absolut stramme und dicht geschlossen ist.

Corrugating rolls, which z. B. in the textile industry for the production of silk gloss on cotton fabrics u. s. w. used, have so far been given their corrugation by a correspondingly engraved molotte, by etching or with the aid of the sandblasting blower.
The subject of the present invention is a new process for the production of such corrugated rolls. The same thing is that a roller-shaped base body is wound helically with wire of any fineness, in such a way that each wire turn lies close to the adjacent one and also lays just as tightly and firmly on the roller surface.
In order to achieve the latter condition, it is advisable to pull the wire onto the cold base body while it is heated, whereby the tensile strength of the winding wire must of course be taken into account.
Either a simple wire or a wire braided like a cord from two or more fine wires can be used.
It is always essential that the winding is absolutely tight and tight.
