   Österreichische PATENTSCHRIFT Nr. 18373.

   GEORGE ARCHIBALD LOWRY IN CHICAGO.

   Austrian PATENT LETTER No. 18373.

   GEORGE ARCHIBALD LOWRY IN CHICAGO.

Gas capsule opening device for impregnating liquids with gases in bottles.

The present invention relates to a gas capsule opening device for impregnating liquids with carbonic acid or other gases in bottles, in which the edge of the disc, provided in a known manner with a pierced piercing tip, rests directly on an annular step in the bottle neck, by which measure compared with the previously known devices a significant simplification of the construction of the closure can be achieved.

In the drawing below, FIG. 1 illustrates a bottle provided with the subject matter of the invention, FIG. 2 shows the parts of the device assembled in a vertical central section, specifically in such a position that the impregnation of the bottle contents. it can be done with Has, while Figure 3 shows the device after the impregnation has been completed.

In the drawing, A shows the bottle or container, the contents of which are to be impregnated with carbonic acid or another gas. This container can, as shown in the drawing, be surrounded as desired with a suitable cover B, which reinforces the same and secures it against the risk of explosion or breakage.

An annular step ('is provided in the interior of the bottle neck or the container opening in order to receive the disc D.

The disc /) is made of steel or other suitable material and is provided in a known manner with a piercing point E, which is arranged so that it protrudes out of the mouth of the bottle or container when the disc is on the annular step C is put on. The piercing tip E is provided with a longitudinal slot or with an opening F which passes through the disk D. G is a short piece of scliauch or a support plate, which is distributed from a flexible matoria), e.g. B. consists of rubber and fits tightly into the bottle neck to the

contains other gas under high pressure with which the contents of the bottle or container A are to be impregnated.

This capsule advantageously has an egg-shaped or spherical shape and is connected at its narrowed end in a suitable manner

other suitable material so that it can be drilled easily.

K is a closure cap which is attached to the bottle neck in such a way that the mouth is closed by the same when the capsule. Il is brought in the same position in which the contents of the same can empty into the liquid contained in the bottle or container. The cap R 'can be attached to the neck of the bottle in any desired manner which is suitable for pressing the capsule onto the piercing tip E. In the embodiment shown in the drawing, the cap 7t ″ is provided on the inside with a screw thread which is screwed over the screw turns L of the bottle.

The execution of this part can also be done in any other way.

The parts shown separately in Fig. 1 are put together in the following way.

brought the mouth of the bottle or the container and placed on the annular step 0 i, so that the piercing tip protrudes outward from the bottle mouth and passes through the central opening of the hose piece G. The capsule R containing the carbon dioxide 1 or another gas is placed in such a way that the! End in the central opening of the hose section <? comes to rest. The cap K will

pierce through, whereby the communication between the inside of the capsule and the F! ash or the container is made.

In the present case, this is achieved by screwing down the cap K from the position shown in FIG. 2 into the position shown in FIG. Just as the capsule H is pressed down more strongly on its base in the open end of the flexible tube piece or the base plate G, the same has a sealing effect and prevents the escape of carbonic acid or other gas and by pulling the flexible ring G apart by pressing the capsule into the ring is pressed, a tight fit is achieved on the bottle neck, whereby an outflow of the contents of the bottle or the released carbon dioxide or other gases is achieved.

It can be seen from this that the device simultaneously forms a tight seal for the bottle, which retains the gases or other contents of the bottle in the same.
