  Verfahren zur Gewinnung von Metallen und Schwefel aus Schwefelerzen und Schwefel- metallen durch feuerflüssige Elektrolyse. 



   Den Gegenstand vorliegender Erfindung bildet ein Verfahren zur Aufarbeitung von Schwefelerzen, welches den Zweck hat, die Erze auf   elektrischem Wege   in Metalle und freien Schwefel zu zerlegen. Nach diesem Verfahren wird das Schwefelerz oder eine sonst geeignete Schwefelverbindung oines schweren Metalles unter Zusatz eines aus schmelzbaren Chloriden eines schweren Metalles gebildeten Bades auf hohe Temperatur erhitzt und hierauf der Elektrolyse unterworfen. Der Verlauf des Prozesses geht dann in der Weise vor sich, dass das als Bad des Erzes dienende Metallchlorid zerlegt wird und unter Ausscheidung des Metalles Chlorgas abgibt, welch letzteres dann auf die Erze derart zerlegend einwirkt, dass es mit deren Metalle Chloride bildet, während Schwefel frei wird, um als Kondensat aufgefangen zu werden.

   The subject matter of the present invention is a process for the processing of sulfur ores, which has the purpose of electrically separating the ores into metals and free sulfur. According to this process, the sulfur ore or another suitable sulfur compound or a heavy metal is heated to a high temperature with the addition of a bath formed from fusible chlorides of a heavy metal and then subjected to electrolysis. The course of the process then proceeds in such a way that the metal chloride serving as the bath of the ore is broken down and releases chlorine gas with the elimination of the metal, which then has such a decomposing effect on the ores that it forms chlorides with their metals, while sulfur becomes free to be collected as condensate.
