Description

Flexible glass plate, in particular for lighting purposes
It is known to apply glass strips to a base by gluing in order to obtain a movable surface in this way. When using this known arrangement for lighting purposes, the surface used as a base for the glass strips has a disruptive effect, since it is not sufficiently translucent.

The present invention eliminates this previous deficiency and consists in that glass strips are connected to one another to form a flexible plate. A flexible holding strip attached to the glass edges, in particular U-shaped, is used as the connecting means. Retaining strips and adhesive can be clear. The connection according to the invention achieves a high level of tightness and gaplessness. The glass strips can be monochrome or multicolored and are not tied to any type of glass.

They are put together in such a way that they are hinge-like

The well-known organic glass can also be used instead of the inorganic glass (silicate glass), as this glass offers particular advantages, as it is lighter in weight and also ensures greater protection from the sun.

Furthermore, instead of the U-shaped retaining strips mentioned, a retaining strip made of elastic material, such as foam plastic or foam rubber in solid form or in a hollow form (tube) can be used as the connecting means for the individual glass strips. The material is also transparent. The mobility of such a holding strip is very great.

In the drawing, the subject matter of the invention is shown in two exemplary embodiments, namely:
Fig. L glass strips which are connected to one another by U-shaped retaining strips. Fig. 2 glass strips which are connected to one another in solid form by holding strips made of elastic material, such as foam plastic or foam rubber.

1 denotes the glass strips, 2 the U-shaped retaining strips made of transparent material (FIG. 1), 3 the retaining strips made of elastic material, such as foam plastic or foam rubber in solid form or in a hollow form (tube) (FIG. 2).

   PATENT CLAIMS:
1. Flexible glass plate assembled from glass strips, especially for lighting purposes, characterized in that glass strips (1) are connected to one another by flexible retaining strips attached to the longitudinal edges so that the individual glass strips can be moved relative to one another in a hinge-like manner.
