   Das im österr. Patent Nr. 20297 beschriebene Verfahren zur Regenerierung der   Atmungsluft   besteht darin, dass die bei der Einwirkung der Atmungsgase auf Natriumsuperoxyd infolge   unvollkommener Regenerierung   des beim Atmen verbrauchten Sauerstoffes entstehende Volumverminderung durch Zuführung von aus anderer Quelle stammendem Sauerstoff, welcher zu Beginn der Apparatbenützung rasch entwickelt wird, ausgeglichen wird. Bei näherem Studium der Wirkungsweise anderer Superoxyde zeigt es sich jedoch, dass der im österr.

   Patent Nr. 20297 genannte   Rest-oder Reservesauerstoff   auch langsam entwickelt werden kann und namentlich zu diesem Behufe ebenfalls die Exhalationsprodukte herangezogen werden können, so dass bei geeigneter Zusammensetzung der Superoxyde mindestens jene Menge Sauerstoff aus den   Atmungsprodukton   regeneriert werden kann, welche bei Bildung derselben verbraucht wurde. In diesem Falle erfolgt die Regenerierung in genau demselben Tempo wie der Verbrauch. Zu diesem Behufe eignen sich jene Superoxyde, welche einerseits analog dem   Natriumsuperoxyd   mit Wasser und Kohlensäure
