Photographic camera arranged in a pocket with built-in
Flash lamp socket
The invention relates to a photographic camera with built-in flash lamp holder and attachable reflector.

The previously known devices of this type are usually associated with the disadvantage that the reflector of the flash unit built into the camera has to be carried along with the camera as an independent accessory.

Before taking a flash, the reflector is either attached to the camera housing, for which purpose suitable holders are provided on the camera housing in this case, or attached to the flash lamp or lamp socket. In all these cases, the couplings for attaching the reflector to the camera or to the built-in flash unit are relatively complicated or do not allow the optically most favorable arrangement of the reflector with respect to the flash lamp inserted in the lamp socket.

It has already been proposed to mount the reflector of the flash unit on the camera housing so that it can move. In this case it will
 EMI1.1
Camera folded onto the camera housing and pivoted, for example, over the taking lens of the camera, the reflector also being able to form part of the ever-ready case of the camera; by pivoting the reflector into the ready position. It has also already been proposed to accommodate the reflector in the camera housing when not in use.

However, these arrangements of the reflector require a relatively large design of the combination consisting of camera and flash unit. In particular, with a movable connection between reflector and camera, z. B. via the camera bag, the image field can never be reliably illuminated in the same way, since the reflector and lens axes never assume a defined angle to one another. This angle and the level of illumination can change even during the recording.
At. In a camera designed according to the invention, the camera top cap and the reflector that can be inserted into it have approximately the same shape.

Separate holders for the reflector are provided on the camera housing and on the top cap, so that it can be repositioned by hand, held in a fixed direction on the camera housing and protects the lens from damage when in use. The holders for the reflector provided on the camera housing and in the lens cover cap are preferably designed in the same way and consist, for example, of plug-in shoes. Accordingly, a plug-in foot that can be optionally inserted into the plug-in shoes is arranged on the reflector.

Furthermore, it is proposed according to the invention to arrange the flash lamp socket next to the plug-in shoe of the camera and the reflector on its lower part with a recess which extends over the area
 EMI1.2
for this purpose to be provided with a plug-in foot that can be inserted into the camera plug-in shoe. The above-mentioned recess of the reflector is preferably adapted to the shape of the lamp socket.
The object of the invention is associated with the advantage that even with small picture
 EMI1.3
Flash reflector can be constantly carried without hindering the user of the camera or the design of the unit consisting of camera, flash device and bag is noticeably enlarged compared to cameras without a flash device.

The reflector according to the invention can be arranged at the optically most favorable distance from the flash lamp and allows the light emanating from the flash lamp to be strongly focused. In addition, the object of the invention is associated with the advantage of an extremely simple and cost-saving construction.

Further details and advantages of the

 <Desc / Clms Page number 2>

Subject matter of the invention will emerge from the following description of an embodiment of the invention. This embodiment is shown in more detail in the drawings, u. zw. shows: Fig. 1 a photographic camera in a ready case and with built-in flash lamp socket and attached reflector in the view from the front, Fig. 2 the camera in the view obliquely from below with the power source of the flash device removed from the camera.

The drawing shows a photographic 35mm camera, the housing of which is designated by 1. In addition to the see-through viewfinder 3 and the plug-in shoe 4 arranged above it in a known manner, the socket 5 of a flashlight device is installed in the upper part of the camera 2.

On the lower edge part 7 of the reflector 6 of the flashlight device, a plug-in foot 8 is arranged laterally, which is pushed into the plug-in shoe 4 of the camera. In addition, the lower edge part 7 of the reflector 6 has, in addition to the plug-in foot 8, a recess 9 which, with regard to its shape, is adapted approximately to the cross section of the lamp socket 5.

The distances between the plug-in foot 8 and the recess 9 and between the plug-in shoe 4 and the lamp socket 5 are approximately the same, so that the lamp socket 5 is below or within this recess 9 when the reflector 6 is attached to the camera. The bulb of the flash lamp 10 inserted in the socket 5 thus protrudes into the space surrounded by the reflector 6 and is located at an optically favorable distance from the reflector 6.

Of course, the recess 9 can also be larger than the cross section of the lamp socket 5, in particular when the areas of the upper part of the camera lying below the reflector are relatively smooth and therefore complement the reflector 6.

The reflector 6 is shaped in such a way that, when not in use, after being removed from the camera, it can be inserted into the lens cover cap 11 of the ready-to-use case 12 of the camera shown in the open state in FIG. the broken line representation of the reflector 6 in FIG. 1. For this purpose, a plug-in shoe 13 is arranged in the interior of the lens cover cap 11, into which the plug-in foot 8 of the reflector 6 can be inserted. The construction of the plug-in shoe 13 corresponds to the plug-in shoe 4 of the camera. Instead of the plug-in shoe 13, other fastening means for the reflector can also be provided in or on the lens cover cap 11 of the pocket 12.

Three miniature batteries or miniature accumulators (mono cells) 14 connected one behind the other, which are arranged on a common carrier 15, serve as the power source for the flashlight device. The carrier 15 can be inserted into a chamber 17 of the camera housing 1 which is accessible from the camera base 16 and which is located between the light shaft of the camera and a film reel chamber. The extension 18 of the carrier 15 closes the chamber 17.

The chamber 17 is preferably dimensioned in such a way that a conventional 22.5 volt battery can also be used instead of mono cells. To close the chamber 17, a cover plate corresponding to the extension 18 is required in this case.
