Drehzahlregler filr Kraftmaschinen
<Desc/Clms Page number 2>

Speed governors for prime movers
The invention relates to a controller for regulating the engine speed of engines. Such speed controllers are driven by the working shaft of the machine and detect the speed of the working shaft by means of a speed measuring unit, a deviation of the speed from the target speed being used to adjust the amount of fuel supplied. Speed governors i are known in which the governor sleeve is loaded on the one hand by the rotating flyweight and on the other hand by a stationary lever system on which the governor spring acts. With these known
Training has the regulator sleeve on a roller bearing over which the load of a thumb of the
Lever system is transferred to the rotating sleeve.
Wear of this thumb now changes the control setting in an undesirable way. It is also known to insert a ball in the regulator sleeve or in the lever loading it, so that the transmission of force is limited to a point-like point of application in the vicinity of the rotating means of the regulator sleeve. Such a design is also subject to wear and tear and, apart from that, can only be used for small forces to be transmitted.
It is also already known to provide a roller as an intermediate member between the regulator sleeve and the lever system, but here too the wear is only distributed over a certain area of the roller.
The aim of the invention is to use such a speed regulator for power machines, which compares the centrifugal force of centrifugal weights with a spring force, and uses the deviations to adjust the fuel supplied to the motor machine, the centrifugal force being applied to a spring-loaded lever system via a rotating regulator sleeve is transmitted, which acts on the adjusting member regulating the fuel supply and wherein the regulator sleeve acts on the lever system via a roller which is expediently mounted on the lever system and supported against the end face of the regulator sleeve, to eliminate the abuses mentioned and essentially exist in that the roller is in contact with the end face of the regulator sleeve at a point outside the center of rotation thereof, u. between
like that. that the axis of the rollers approximates the
Axis of the regulator sleeve intersects. In this way, the support point moves over the entire circumference of the roller during operation, so that the signs of wear are distributed over the circumference of the roller and practically do not apply. It is also by relocating the point of attack of the roller outside the
The axis of rotation of the regulator sleeve ensures easy rolling of the roller. The roller expediently has a curved running surface and is, for example, barrel-shaped or spherical.
As a result, the contact point of the roller is limited to a point that wanders along a line around the circumference of the roller, so that in spite of this point-like contact, the wear is negligible.
The design according to the invention now enables the design to be made in such a way that the distance between the roller axis and a plane of the regulator sleeve that is perpendicular to the regulator sleeve axis is different in the various rotational positions of the regulator sleeve. It can for example according to the
According to the invention, the roller can be mounted concentrically to its circumference, the end face interacting with it being at an angle to the axis of the regulator sleeve that differs slightly from the right angle. However, according to the invention, the roller can also be designed eccentrically and interact with a flat end face which is perpendicular to the axis of rotation of the sleeve.
Through this
As a measure, a slight, relatively opposite movement is achieved between the regulator sleeve and the part of the lever system engaging the regulator sleeve, through which the frictional forces which impair the sensitivity of the regulator are practically almost completely when the regulator is stationary
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
be switched off so that the sensitivity of the controller is largely increased, whereas with one
Adjustment of the control system, the frictional forces in the sense of damping or avoidance of vibrations come into full effect. If you consider the entire regulator in two systems, which touch at the point of application of the roller and of which one of the lever or lever that changes the fuel supply.
Linkage system and the other is formed by the centrifugal force measuring unit, each system has its own friction. Which of the two systems is the lesser
Has its own friction, is forced to oscillate. If the self-friction of both systems is the same, both systems vibrate. According to the invention, the total friction of the lever or linkage system that changes the fuel supply should now be slightly greater than the total friction of the centrifugal force measuring mechanism based on the point of application of the caster.
In this way, vibrations of the lever system changing the fuel supply can be prevented at least to the extent that an undesired constant movement of the quantity adjustment member, which is a periodic one.
Change in the power output of the machine would result is avoided.
The invention is illustrated schematically in the drawing using an exemplary embodiment.
1 and 2 show the diagram of a speed controller, FIG. 1 showing a section along line I-I in FIG. 2 and FIG. 2 showing a section along line H-II in FIG. 3 and 4 show different variants in axial section according to FIG. 1, FIG. 5 shows a principle of the scheme of an arrangement according to FIG. 1. FIGS. 6 and 7 show a principle of the scheme of an arrangement of FIG in different positions.
In the case of the speed controller according to FIGS. 1 and 2, 1 represents the flyweights which are mounted on the flyweight carrier 2 so as to be pivotable about pins 3. 4 is the governor shaft and 5 is the governor sleeve. That the
The lever or linkage system that changes the fuel supply is formed by a double-armed lever 7 pivotable about an axis 6 and the delivery quantity adjustment member or the regulator rod 8, as well as a connecting strap 9. 10 shows the governor spring loading the flyweights 1.
At the end of the lever 7, a barrel-shaped or spherical roller 12 is mounted on an axle 11, which engages the end face 13 of the regulator sleeve 5. As the drawing shows, the spherical or barrel-shaped peripheral surface 14 of the roller 12 touches the end face 13 of the regulator sleeve 5 on one
Point 15 outside the rotating means or the axis of the regulator sleeve 5. This offset of the contact point 15 of the roller 12 from the rotating means or the axis of the sleeve 5 is only about 1, 2, 3 or 4 mm.
The roller axis 11 approximately intersects the axis of the regulator sleeve 5, so that the direction of movement of the point of contact on the sleeve corresponds approximately to the direction of movement of the point of contact on the roller and the roller 12 runs practically without sliding on the end face 13 of the
Regulator sleeve 5 takes place.
The power transmission between the roller 12 and the regulator sleeve 5 is now expediently carried out in such a way that a slight oscillation is generated in the regulator system when the flyweight carrier 2 or the regulator sleeve 5 rotates. In the arrangement according to FIG. 3, the roller 12 ′ is mounted extensively on the axis 11, whereas the end face 13 of the sleeve 5 is flat and is perpendicular to the axis of the sleeve 5. In the arrangement according to FIG. 4, the roller 12 is centered on its
Axis 11 is mounted, but the end face 13 is arranged at an angle other than 900 to the axis of the sleeve 5. For the sake of clarity, the 90 degree angle is shown in FIG.
In these arrangements according to FIGS. 3 and 4, the distance between the roller axis 11 and a plane of the component cooperating with the roller 12, which is perpendicular to the controller sleeve axis, changes. H. So in the present case of the regulator sleeve, in the various rotary positions.
In the schematic diagram according to FIG. 5, the two systems of the controller are delimited by lines a, b.
One system A is the measuring mechanism, which consists of the flyweights 1 with their bearing 3 and the regulator sleeve 5 with their bearing. The other system B is the lever or lever that changes the fuel supply. Linkage system that consists of the double-armed lever 7 with its storage 6, the control rod 8, the
Tab 9 and the intermediate joints, as well as the spring attack span 16 consists. The lever system B generates a force P spring and a friction R spring related to the roller 12.

If the roller moves to the left at any speed, the following forces prevail at the point of contact of the roller:

Vibrations are dampened and the lack of friction that occurs in the steady state is eliminated.
It can thus be seen that for the state of motion in which the sleeve, viewed in absolute terms, moves in the opposite direction to the center of the roller, there is almost complete freedom from friction. In these states, the controller can adjust to its setpoint. If, also considered in absolute terms, the sleeve moves in the same direction of movement as the roller means, then the entire frictional force contained in the regulator appears as a free force that inhibits the movement.
In these conditions, vibrations are effectively dampened.
System A (measuring mechanism) now has less intrinsic friction than system B (lever or
Linkage system). The vibrations that occur are thus essentially limited to system A, and in system B the vibrations are reduced to such an extent that at least constant adjustment of the regulator rod 8 due to such vibrations is avoided.
