  Elektrodenbalken für Vielpunkt-Schweissmaschinen
 EMI1.1

 <Desc/Clms Page number 2>

can consist in a known manner of a substantially homogeneous, deformable elastic solid body, for example made of rubber, or of a deformable hollow body in which there is a pneumatic pressure medium or a hydraulic pressure medium in connection with a pressure accumulator. The embodiments with pressure medium-filled hollow bodies make it possible to change the pressure on the electrode carriers in a known manner from a central control point by changing the filling pressure. By using a pressure regulator in the filling circuit of the cushion and a program control device for this regulator, it is also possible to achieve a pressure profile that changes in the desired manner during each welding cycle.

The regulating springs combined according to the invention with pressure pads of the type described are expediently arranged on the side of the pressure pad facing away from the electrode carrier, preferably in a cavity of the electrode bar, and are supported directly on the electrode carrier via a ram. This enables the welding pressures to be easily adjusted additionally on the side of the electrode bar remote from the welding points.

The connection between the regulating springs and the associated electrode carriers can be made by a plunger penetrating the pressure pad in the direction of the electrode, whereby the pad for the plunger can either have eyelet-like openings or is made in several parts with separating gaps running in the direction of the electrode pressure, so that the plungers can lie in these separating gaps .

In the drawing, the invention is explained in more detail using an example. FIGS. 1 and 2 show, in cross section and elevation, an electrode bar according to the invention of a grid welding machine, which has regulating springs for the precise setting of the contact pressure at each welding point.

The electrode bar is set up for grid production by means of double-point welding of crossed wires 1, 2 and therefore carries Br! 1 corner electrodes 3, whereas the actual electrodes 4, 5 are permanently arranged in the machine. The bridge electrodes 3 are inserted into one or two electrode carriers 6 and secured by bolts 7, depending on the distance between the weld points assigned to one another.

The bar 9 has a groove-like cavity 10 in which a two-part, hose-like pressure pad 11, 12 lies. The upholstery walls consist of rubber-elastic material, such as rubber, plastic or the like, and are made of two or more layers, similar to car tires, in order to achieve a particular resistance. The upholstery parts rest on the groove base and on the groove walls, so that only the surface of the upholstery parts facing the groove opening is not enclosed by the hollow bar 9. This free cushion surface is in contact with plate-like foot parts of the electrode carriers 6, which are lined up in the groove and cover the open cushion surface. The electrode carriers are secured against falling out by projections 13 of the hollow bar on the side walls of the groove.

The cushion 11, 12 is connected to a pressure generator (not shown); During operation, the interior of the upholstery is filled with a pressure medium, preferably compressed air, and kept under a certain pressure. In the operating state, the padding walls therefore rest against the surrounding walls and thus press the electrode supports 6 against the projections 13. If the electrode bar is now moved against the wires to be welded, the electrode supports, after the electrodes have been placed on the wires, are moved further Bar lifted from the approaches 13. The individual electrode carriers stand out to different heights depending on the thickness of the wires and the wear and tear on the electrodes.

Nevertheless, in the case of the electrode bar according to the invention, the elastic pressure pad ensures that the same force acts on each electrode carrier. Since the pressure pad is connected to the pressure generator (compressor, oil pump or the like), the pressure in the pad and thus the contact pressure of the electrodes can be set as desired by switching on a pressure regulator. It is also possible, by controlling the pressure regulator with a program control device, to regulate the pressure curve during a work cycle according to a specific program. An electrode bar of the previously described type according to the invention therefore makes it possible to apply the same pressure to each of the electrode carriers.

However, it can now happen that different wire qualities have to be processed in a grid, so that different welding pressures have to prevail at the welding points. For this purpose, the pressure forces of the pressure cushions acting on the electrode carriers can be superimposed, which according to the invention are generated by regulating springs 14 each connected to an electrode carrier 6. For this purpose, the springs are arranged on the side of the pressure pad 11, 12 facing away from the electrodes and act on the electrode carrier 6 with a plunger 15, the shaft of which is located in the separating gap between the two pad parts 11 and 12. The regulating springs 14 can be pretensioned as desired by pressure screws 16 so that the additional pressure required on the individual electrode carriers can be precisely adjusted.

The range of variation of this additional pressure can be approximately a quarter to a third of the normally required electrode pressure, depending on the wire quality and surface quality.
