Process for the production of a disinfecting active ingredient solution
It has been suggested to use menstrual pads with dilute chlorophyll solutions and the like. a. to be impregnated in order to achieve deodorization or disinfection. However, the problem of deodorization and disinfection in menstrual pads and tampons has still not been completely satisfactorily solved. According to the invention, borax-containing extracts of Viscum album and Malva silvestris are a very beneficial impregnating solution if a small amount of alkyl-dimethyl-benzyl-ammonium halide is added to them. The use of Viscum album extract as a remedy for menstrual disorders is known, as is the beneficial mucus effect of extracts from Malva silvestris.
 EMI1.1
extracted with frequent stirring, as well as 500 g Malva silvestris (flowers, leaves).

After the extraction is complete, it is filtered and pressed, possibly centrifuged. The same amounts of the extracts are combined in each case and an amount of alkyldimethylbenzylammonium chloride added to the total solution so that the content is 0.3%.

With this active ingredient solution menstrual pads or tampons can be impregnated in a manner known per se.
