The present invention relates to a glass bottle with a belly and a neck.
Glass bottles containing, for example, beverages are generally completely hollow on the inside and have a label on the outside. The object of the invention is to further develop a glass bottle in such a way that a particularly appealing exterior is achieved and that optically particularly striking lettering is possible.
According to the invention, this object is achieved in that a glass plate is integrally formed on the inside of the abdomen. It is essential to the invention that a glass body is formed in the interior of the bottle, which can preferably carry inscriptions, drawings, pictures or the like. If the bottle is filled with a clear liquid, such as water or a clear schnapps, then the liquid column around the plate forms an optical lens which is essentially convex in shape and thereby acts like a magnifying glass and enlarges the label or the like. This increases legibility and draws users' attention to the label. The label is also protected inside the bottle and cannot be damaged when the bottle is stored.
In a particularly advantageous development of the present invention it is provided that the plate has a slot in its interior which is open to the outside of the bottle. A label or the like can be inserted into the plate from the outside, which makes it possible to be able to provide bottles of the same design with different labels as required.
The invention is explained in more detail below on the basis of the exemplary embodiments illustrated in the figures.
1 shows a section through a first embodiment variant of the present invention, FIG. 2 shows a section through line 11-11 in FIG. 1, FIG. 3 shows a further embodiment variant of the invention in section, and FIG. 4 shows a section along the line IV-IV in Fig. 3.
The bottle of Fig. I consists of a neck 1 and a bottle belly 2, which are designed in any way known from bottles. A plate 3 is formed on the inside 2a of the belly 2. The connection is made via two connection points 4, 5 between which a slot 6 is formed. The plate 3 is substantially rectangular and can carry an inscription on one or both sides. During manufacture, the bottle with neck 1 and belly 2 is first manufactured. Then the plate 3 is melted onto the inner surface 2a of the belly 2 from the underside.
The bottom 7 of the bottle is then added in a manner known per se.

In the embodiment of FIGS. 3 and 4, the plate 13 is formed with a slot 14 in its interior. The slot 14 is open to the outside, so that a label or the like can be inserted in the direction of the arrow 15. In this way it is possible to offer a large number of different label inscriptions or the like with a single type of bottle.
It is obvious to the person skilled in the art that the plates 3 and 13 are in no way restricted to a flat rectangular shape. The plates 3, 13 can in turn be curved and have a shape that deviates from the rectangular shape. The plate 3 can also be connected to the inside 2a of the belly 2 only by a thin connecting rod, since only minimal forces act on the plate 3.
The present invention not only makes it possible to achieve a particularly appealing exterior, but also to achieve technical functionality through the enlarging effect of the bottle contents.
