Description

Process for utilizing combustion gases in explosion engines.
The Stamm patent protects a process for producing the explosive mixture in which the fuel is mixed with the cleaned combustion gases mixed with oxygen instead of ordinary air. This method is particularly suitable for small machines. However, if this method is also to be used on larger machines, for example those of around 30 HP and above, it turns out that it is impossible to implement the cycle in the desired manner. This is due on the one hand to the imperfect combustion of the liquid hydrocarbons and their partial breakdown into gaseous hydrocarbons, which escape from the alkaline cleaning, and on the other hand to the difficulty of completely decarburizing large quantities of the exhaust gases.
In this case, the amount of oxygen must therefore be increased somewhat.
Further, if one decarburizes the exhaust gases less well, i.e. H. for example, by being content to wash the gases with water only, the excess becomes case. which have not been separated out by washing escape from the cleaner in an even larger amount than with alkaline cleaning and, as a result, larger amounts
EMI1.1
After all, you don't even need to clean the exhaust gases and you can mix them directly with oxygen; but then the consumption of oxygen exceeds 1000 liters per horsepower hour.
In order to allow the excess of exhaust gases to escape, a preferably automatic outlet valve is arranged at one point in the circuit, for example behind the line and in front of the cleaner.
