konzentriertestärker, als es z. B. die viel verwendete Urthophosphonsäure vermag. Diese iiydrophiuerung ist zugleich eine Reinigung der Metalloberflächen von etwa vorhandenen öligen und fetten Verunreinigungen. Bisher bekannte Reinigungsmittel sind Dispersionen und enthalten mehrere inhomogene Stoffe, wie es beispielsweise bei der in der USA-Patentschrift Nr. 2, 780, 168 beschriebenen Dispersion der Fall ist, die als Reinigungsmittel für befettete Druckplatten dient und in der wässerigen Phase einwertige und mehrwertige Alkohole und eine kolloidale Dispersion von Kieselsäure enthält und in deren nicht wässeriger Phase vorzugsweise Petroläther enthalten sind.
Die Herstellung von Vinylphosphonsäure und zahlreicher ihrer Derivate ist in der Patentliteratur beschrieben.
Man erhält das erfindungsgemässe Feuchtmittel auf einfache Weise durch Auflösen von Vinylphosphonsäure oder Polyvinylphosphonsäure oder Mischungen dieser beiden Substanzen in Wasser. Die Auflösung tritt leicht ein. Feuchtwasser mit sehr geringen Konzentrationen an Phosphonsäure, beispielsweise von 0, 0001%, ergeben schon gute Resultate im Offsetdruck. Für die Praxis empfiehlt es sich jedoch im allgemeinen, Feuchtwasser zu verwenden, bei denen die Konzentration an Vinylphosphonsäure oder Polyvinylphosphonsäure 0, 001-0, 1% in Wasser beträgt.
Für die Reinigung der metallischen Druckträger von befetteten und öligen Stellen verwendet man vorteilhaft höhere Konzentrationen, beispielsweise von 0, 1 bis 10% Vinylphosphonsäure und bzw. oder

Polyvinylphosphonsäure in Wasser. Es kann vorteilhaft sein, dem erfindungsgemässen Feuchtwasser weitere Zusätze hinzuzufügen, darunter auch solche, deren Verwendung im Feuchtwasser bereits bekannt ist. Beispiele solcher weiteren wasserlöslichen bzw. mit Wasser mischbaren Zusatzstoffe sind Ammoniumphosphat, citronensaure Salze, Glycerin und andere Alkohole, Polyglykole, Dextrine, Alginate, Carboxymethylcellulosen und pflanzliche Gummi, von denen man jeden für sich oder mehrere zusammen dem erfindungsgemässen Feuchtwasser zusetzen kann.
Zur Anfärbung der an sich farblosen Lösungen der Vinylphosphonsäure oder Polyvinylphosphonsäure können ihnen geringe Mengen von Farbstoffen zugefügt werden.
Beispiel l : Ein für den Gebrauch im Offsetdruckverfahren sehr geeignetes Feucht-und Reinigungswasser wird hergestellt aus
999 cm3 Wasser,
1 g Polyvinylphosphonsäure,
1, 0 mg Farbstoff Thymolblau.
Beispiel 2 : Man stellt ein Feuchtwasser für den Offsetdruck her durch Mischen von
300 cm3 Wasser,
700 cm3 Glycerin
0, 5 g Vinylphosphonsäure,

Beispiel 3 : Man stellt ein Feuchtmittel für den Offsetdruck her aus
965 cm3 Wasser,

Beispiel 4 : Ein gutes Feuchtwasser für den Offsetdruck erhält man, wenn man dem in Beispiel 2 beschriebenen Gemisch noch 5 g tertiäres Natriumcitrat zusetzt und homogen darin verteilt.
