Welding electrode made of austenitic chromium-nickel-manganese steel
The parent patent No. 192713 describes a welding electrode made of an austenitic chromium-nickel-manganese steel for welding non-austenitic iron and steel alloys, which is made from 0.08-0.2P / o C, over 1-1.5% Si, 18 -23% Cr, 0, 01-0, 21o Ti and / or Zr, also from Ni and Mn together in amounts between 11 and 18%, but the Mn content is 75-100% of the Ni content, as well as from Consists of iron and inevitable impurities.

The use of this welding electrode in the bare state in the known inert gas welding process was u. a. recommended.

The present invention is based on the observation that when using protective gas consisting of carbon dioxide or containing more than 50% carbon dioxide, a titanium content that cannot be replaced in contrast to the proposals of the parent patent, and the like. between 0, 10 and 0, '2pro is absolutely necessary and that at the same time the carbon content is within narrower limits, u. between 0.10 and 0.15% must be selected if pore formation is to be avoided and the material's own strength and toughness values are to be achieved with certainty.

For welding in a protective gas consisting of carbon dioxide or more than 50% carbon dioxide
 EMI1.1
Ni and Mn together between 11 and 18%, the Mn content being 75-100% of the Ni content, and consisting of iron and inevitable impurities.

It should be noted that the carbon content of the weld metal is usually slightly higher than that of the electrode. The carburization can be up to 0.05%.
