Scales or nomograms with coarse and fine graduation or cartographies with coarse and detailed representation
The invention relates to scales, e.g. B. length measuring devices, slide rules u. Like., Or nomograms with coarse and fine division or cartographies with coarse and fine representation.

In practice there is often a need for different-scale reading of scales, maps, plans and the like. The previously customary reading magnifiers fulfill this purpose only inadequately, because too extensive a fine division disturbs the resolving power of the coarse scale when viewed roughly, and conversely, when viewed more closely, the rough division is also disruptively enlarged. For this reason, the reading accuracy of slide rules, theodolites, etc. a. do not increase according to requirements. The same applies when viewing map images at different scales.

In order to remedy these disadvantages, it is now proposed according to the invention that the coarse and fine division or the coarse and fine representation be applied to one another in different colors. Furthermore, it is proposed that each division or representation be assigned a correspondingly magnifying optic with a filter that swallows the colors of the other divisions or representations, by means of which each division or representation can be read or viewed or projected individually at an appropriate magnification can.

According to the invention, the scales, nomograms or cartographies are produced by drawing the coarse and fine divisions or coarse and fine representations to different scales, each in a different color, taking color slides of the same format from these drawings and producing a common multicolored slide from these.

The invention is explained below with reference to the drawings, for example. Fig. 1 and 2 show schematically the illustration of a map. Fig. 3 shows the production of a slide of two cards. Figures 4 and & show the projection of the maps. 6 and 7 show the application of the invention to a slide rule, the scales shown in FIG. 7 being attached to one another.

A car card e.g. B. on a scale of 1: 3Mill. would be on an area of about 14 x 20 cm the Austrian.

Show federal territory including the peripheral areas of neighboring states. Such a map a1 (FIG. 1), drawn approximately in red, is recorded with a lens b1 on a red-layered color film cl.

The same area, on a scale of 1: 300,000, i.e. linearly 10 times larger, is drawn approximately in blue color and (according to FIG. 2, a2) on a color negative c2 of the same size as the negative c1 with a blue layer is recorded through a lens b2. Then the two color negatives cl and C2 or the slides produced therefrom are superimposed and jointly (Fig. 3) projected from a light source d through a lens b3 onto a red-blue-layered color film e, and thus a common, two-scale slide from the Cards al and a2 made.

However, the template can also already be made on a multi-scale and multi-colored basis and a multi-color slide can be produced from it in one operation. This microfilm slide can now be projected onto a screen attached to the dashboard of the car, u. between either (according to Fig. 4) the card 1: 3Mill. from the light source d via the blue filter f1 through the lens gl onto the ground glass h, whereby the blue, large-scale

The film card is always ready to provide information: First, rough orientation on the large

The invention can also be used in scales. With slide rules z. B. (according to FIGS. 6 and 7) the coarse and fine division are differently colored one above the other, d. H. on top of each other, attached and filtered out the undesired classification when viewed.

The invention is not restricted to the examples given, but can of course also be used with other scales and nomograms.
