Fig. 1 zeigt eine mechanische Entlastungseinrichtung.

Fig. 2 stellt eine elektromagnetische Entlastungseinrichtung dar. Als Messflüssigkeit dient Quecksil-

Pressure, negative pressure, differential pressure or vacuum measuring device with U-tube
Pressure gauges of conventional design usually consist of at least one, but usually of several interconnected tubes which are filled with a measuring liquid. The space above the measuring liquid in one of the tubes is exposed to the pressure to be measured. The individual tubes have different cross-sections and can optionally be switched into the pressure measuring circuit. One of the
Tubes contains a float. The action of the measuring pressure on the measuring liquid in the respective tube required for the measuring range changes the liquid level of the measuring liquid in this tube and in the tube containing the float.

The swimmer executes a movement (stroke) as a result of the change in the height of the liquid level. The respective height in the pipe at which the float is located is then linearly related to the pressure to be measured. If the tube is made of transparent material and provided with a length division, the respective height can be read off directly. In another version, the float position is transmitted mechanically and displayed. Another version is equipped with a float made of ferromagnetic material. A rotatably mounted permanent magnet mounted outside the pipe, in whose magnetic circuit the float is switched on, shows its current position in the pipe directly.

However, what all of the above versions have in common is that the float swims completely freely in the measuring liquid and therefore the stroke that the float performs is a linear function of the pressure. For the purpose of measuring speed by measuring pressure, however, a non-linear relationship between the pressure and the display value is desirable.

The invention relates to a pressure, negative pressure, differential pressure or vacuum measuring device with a U-tube, in which one leg contains a float and in which a non-linear relationship between the measured pressure and the display value is achieved with simple means.

The invention is characterized in that the load on the float is relieved by a mechanical, electromagnetic or electrodynamic device, as a result of which the float executes a stroke of different size compared to the change in level of the measuring liquid.

The device according to the invention for relief, which can act purely mechanically or electromagnetically according to further features of the invention and whose respective force with which the relief takes place depends on the height of the liquid level of the measuring liquid, the measuring pressure is converted into a non-linear, by the device conditional function transformed. Power formation or square root extraction of the measurement pressure can be achieved in a simple manner with the aid of the device according to the invention.

Exemplary embodiments of the device according to the invention are shown in FIG. 1 and FIG. 2 of the drawing. Fig. 1 shows a mechanical relief device. The float S swims in a measuring arm A filled with measuring liquid M. The relief device consists of a weight G which acts via a lever H, a gear ZR and a toothed rack ZS connected to the float S and engaging with the gear ZR. As the liquid level rises, the torque determined by the weight G and its horizontal distance from the rack ZS increases. The float S will thereby lift out of the measuring liquid M relative to the height of the liquid level.

Fig. 2 shows an electromagnetic relief device. The measuring fluid used is mercury
