Voltage regulating device for generators, in particular for alternators for motor vehicles
The invention relates to a voltage regulating device for generators, in particular for alternators of motor vehicles, with an excitation winding connected in parallel, in which a transistor is connected to control the excitation current passing through the excitation winding. The gene-. In this case, the rator is usually driven by a motor or some other propellant that cannot guarantee constant revolutions.

In the known devices for voltage regulation z. B. the alternators of motor vehicles electromechanical systems are usually used, the complicated structure of which is a major disadvantage, has an unfavorable effect on the service life of the device, is a source of undesired electrical arcs and causes wear of the control contacts, as well as the creation of high-frequency fields and disrupt the high-frequency device .

Electronic voltage regulating devices for generators with an exciter winding connected in parallel have also become known which completely exclude the occurrence of electrical arcs and the undesired interference caused thereby. The original electromechanical function is being replaced by semiconductor elements, which, with their properties, give this device a long service life.

The voltage regulating device according to the invention represents an improvement of the known electronic regulating devices with a much simpler switching system and is characterized in that the base of the transistor is connected to the conductor of the first generator terminal via a resistor and to the conductor of the second via the collector and emitter of a further transistor Genes
 EMI1.1
 gate terminal is connected.

The invention is explained in more detail below on the basis of an exemplary embodiment which is shown in the drawing. 1 shows a diagram of the voltage regulation of generators with self-exciting windings connected in parallel, and FIG. 2 shows a volt-ampere characteristic of a tunnel diode.

When the speed of the generator G is increased, a small voltage is generated on the brushes and also on conductors 1 and 2 caused by the remanent magnetism. This voltage drives a current through the resistor R and through the junction base emitter of the transistor Tl, so that the transistor Tl begins to "open". With this, however, the current also begins to flow through the exciter B, which causes a higher voltage in the dynamo, which further increases the current flowing through the resistor R1 and the base-emitter junction of the transistor T. "of the transistor Tl causes. This process then repeats itself like an avalanche, the excitation of the generator G occurs very quickly.

The increase in tension continues to the required level because the

Current flowing through resistor R2 short-circuits the base-emitter path of transistor T2 via tunnel diode TD, the current increases in section O-a of the voltamp; : Characteristic of the tunnel diode TD (Fig. 2).

The voltage at the tunnel diode TD section Oa is so low that no current flows through the base-emitter junction of the transistor Tz, which means that the transistor T is closed. If the voltage is increased further, point A turns over to point B, in the volt-ampere characteristic of the tunnel diode TD, as a result of which the voltage at the tunnel diode TD is increased - section down - and the current drops in the characteristic in section AB to point B. An increased voltage at the tunnel
 EMI2.1
ceases to flow through the base-emitter junction of the "transistor Tl", whereby the transistor Tl is "closed". As the excitation current becomes smaller, the voltage at generator G and in conductors 1 and 2 also decreases.

There is also a drop in the voltage across the tunnel diode TD, which causes the transistor Te to "close" and the transistor Tl to "open" and thus a renewed excitation of the dynamo. This process repeats itself over and over again.
