<Desc/Clms Page number 2>

<Desc/Clms Page number 3>

Device for compression molding and injection molding machines for conveying and setting heavy workpieces
The invention relates to a device on compression molding or injection molding machines for handling heavy workpieces.
Since such objects are very heavy and quite unwieldy, they can usually not be transported by the workers directly by hand, but have to be conveyed by means of conveyors, such as. B.
Lifting equipment, cranes, hoisting winches or the like. Be promoted to the processing station. It is difficult to bring the weighty workpiece to the open point between the punch parts of the press at the press-molding or injection-molding machine, especially when precise centering of the workpiece is required. The removal of the workpiece also requires a considerable amount of work and is cumbersome because the space is limited by columns, support bearings and other press parts. The hindrance to this handling is also greater in that the holding parts of the machine consist of several components that can be moved from above and from the side against the workpiece, so that manual operation is associated with great risk of accidents.
The subject matter of the invention now relates to a device mentioned at the beginning, the essential characteristic for avoiding the above disadvantages is that the device consists of a workpiece holder which has a central sleeve by means of which the workpiece holder is rotatably placed on a machine column and on which also has two identical, oppositely protruding workpiece holder arms from the central sleeve, as well as supporting devices for receiving intermediate molded parts on each free arm end and devices for closing and opening these intermediate molded parts, the holding devices being pivotable and lockable in predetermined angular positions.
This results in the advantage that the machine can be operated automatically and that the workpieces can be inserted into the holding arms outside the press. These and other advantages and characteristics of the invention will be explained in more detail with reference to the description.
The drawing shows an exemplary embodiment of the subject matter of the invention, the rotor of an electric motor with metallic inserts preferably being shown as the workpiece.
1 is a schematic representation of a die casting machine with the conveyor device according to the invention; Fig. 2 is a section along the line A-A of the die of the press casting machine of Fig. 1; Fig. 3 is a section on line B-B of part of the conveyor used on the die casting machine of Fig. 1; 4 shows an end view of one of the lateral parts of the forming die and FIGS. 5, 6, 7, 8 and 9 show various successive working stages of the device shown in FIG.
In Fig. 1, 1 denotes the fixed support plate of the press casting machine and 4 denotes its movable support plate. These two plates are placed on the die-cast machine columns 2 and 3. The press casting machine can, however, also have more than two, that is to say three or four such columns. The lower part 5 of the mold is fixed on the fixed plate 1 and its upper part 6 on the movable plate 4; these molded parts 5 and 6 are exactly centered with one another.
In the middle of the lower die 5 a cylindrical bore 7 is provided which extends vertically downwards and contains the molten metal. A piston 8, which is actuated by a hydraulic device 9 ′, moves in this bore 7. At the bottom dead center, the piston 8 opens, as shown in FIG. 1, a channel 9 of a conductor which brings the aforementioned bore 7 into communication with the container 10 which contains the molten metal. In the position assumed by the piston 8 according to FIG. 1, if a negative pressure is generated in the bore 7, the metal can rise. The vacuum is generated by the action of a pin 27 which is movable in a bore 28 and is actuated by a small hydraulic piston 29.
The retraction of this pin opens a channel which connects the line 30 with the vacuum pump, so that a negative pressure arises within the bore 7, which sucks the metal out of the container 10 and pushes it up in the bore 7.
On one of the die-cast machine columns, e.g. B. the column 2, is a 1800 or 900 (as explained later) preferably rotatable without play, from a central sleeve 12 and two lateral opposite and
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
equally long arms 13 and 14 existing workpiece holder 11 rotatably attached. The workpiece holder 11 can be rotated around the column 2 by following angles of 1800 or 90 "each.
Each rotary movement of the workpiece holder 11, in particular for centering and coaxial insertion between the punches 5 and 6, is controlled by a pin 15 moved by a hydraulic lifting element 15 ', which can engage in holes 16 provided in a circle on the sleeve 12, whereby the workpiece holder 11 is locked in the correct treatment position of the workpiece. Each time the locking pin 15 is pulled out of the relevant hole 16 so that the workpiece holder 11 can be rotated through a further angle, the lifting mechanism 15 'being actuated in such a way that the pin 15 can slide back and the workpiece holder becomes free.
Each workpiece holder arm carries on the free end a ring 17 (FIGS. 1 and 3) which can grip and clamp the intermediate molded parts 18 and 19 (FIGS. 1 and 4). The ring 17 is formed from two half-rings 20 and 21, which are provided by two parallel shaft pairs on each end of the support arms 13 and 14.
EMI2.1
and 23 fixed by screws 24. The half-ring 21 can be displaced and adjusted on the shafts 22 and 23 by controlling a hydraulic, double-acting piston 25, which is provided at the end of each workpiece holder arm 13 or 14, so that the half-ring 21 is clamped with the second half-ring 20 or removed from it can.
The jamming and removal of the control piston shaft 25 is made possible in that a pin 26 is provided which connects the piston shaft to the half-ring 21.
The two half rings 20 and 21 clamp the lateral intermediate mold parts 18 and 19 and support the same when they are out of operation. For this purpose, the intermediate molded parts 18 and 19 carry
EMI2.2
molded parts 18 and 19 are provided. These grooves 33, 34 begin on the lower edge of the same and end in an extension provided over the center line of the same, so that after they are removed from one another, the intermediate mold parts 18 and 19 fall down under their own weight until they come into a position in which cams 31 and 32 are at the top of the grooves.
The intermediate molded parts 18 and 19 can therefore assume a lower position in which the ring 17 surrounds them above the horizontal central plane of symmetry, or assume an upper position in which the aforementioned ring 17 closes them together approximately in the region of this horizontal central plane of symmetry. In order to prevent the two intermediate mold parts 18 and 19 from moving independently of one another during such movements, two pins 35 and 36 are provided which keep these two intermediate mold parts 18 and 19 at exactly the same height and still allow their removal and attachment.
The intermediate molded parts are intended to enclose the workpiece. In the present case, it is an electric motor rotor 37.
The processing stages of the device according to the invention are shown in FIGS. 5-9.
In FIG. 5, the workpiece holder 11 is shown in such a way that the workpiece holder arm 13 has rotated a last machined workpiece P out of the device, while at the same time a workpiece Q still to be machined has been inserted between the molded parts 5 and 6. In this position, the
EMI2.3
with the workpiece to be treated Q and the intermediate mold parts 18 and 19 with respect to the upper and lower mold parts 5 and 6 is set exactly centered.
The two pistons 25 of the arms 13 and 14, which keep the ring 17 out of operation, are now actuated so that the lateral intermediate molded parts (FIG. 6) can assume the lowest position permitted by the ring 17. As a result, the intermediate mold parts 18 and 19 are supported on the lower mold part 5, against which the upper mold part ss moves until the parts are fully closed. The two intermediate molded parts are pressed together in their closed position by the conical molding surface on these parts 5 and 6. According to FIG. 6 (left-hand part) the two intermediate mold parts 18 and 19, after the ring 17 has released them on the arm 13, are offset downward so that the workpiece P can be removed from the punch.
According to Fig. 6 (right part) the piston 29 (Fig. 2) is actuated, which releases the bore 7 by the retraction of the locking pin 27, whereby the line 30 is brought into connection with the vacuum pump, so that the molten metal M through the hole 7 can rise.
The amount of metal can of course be adjusted by any known control or measuring means, such. B. by actuating the piston 29 itself by a delay device or by regulating the speed of the piston 8 from the beginning of the negative pressure stage or in another way.
After the required amount of metal has accumulated in the bore (FIG. 7), the metal is pressed into the mold by the piston 8, whereby all empty spaces are filled. In the lower part of the intermediate mold parts 18 and 19, two cavities 38 and 39 (FIGS. 5 and 6) are provided, in which metallic overlaps 40, 41 (FIGS. 6 and 7) form during the press-casting process, which in the intermediate mold parts 18 and 19 drivers train to take the treated workpiece upwards.
After the end of the pressing process (FIG. 8) has been reached, the press is opened, for which purpose the molded part 6 is raised, the piston 25 still being in the retracted position with the ring 17 open. In the meantime, a new workpiece R can be prepared on the empty support arm 13.
<Desc / Clms Page number 3>
After the mold has been opened (FIG. 9), the piston 8 goes up a further piece so that it also lifts the intermediate mold parts 18 and 19 together with the treated workpiece Q, the stroke being such that the lower outwardly protruding parts of the treated workpiece and the cast pin (s) 42 are brought up over the surface of the lower mold part 5.
During this time, the stroke of the workpiece R between the intermediate mold parts 18 and 19 is also ended.
After this process, the pistons 25 are actuated again in such a way that the workpiece is jammed in the ring 17, this process applying equally to both the workpiece Q and the workpiece R. The workpiece holder 11 is then rotated by 180 into the position according to FIG. 5, the workpiece holder arm 14 coming into the position of the holder 13 and vice versa. In this way, the workpiece Q is brought out of the press, while the workpiece R comes into the press in place of the workpiece Q.
Then a new editing game begins. Of course, this pivoting is only possible after removal of the pin 15 from the clamping hole 16.
The rotation of the workpiece holder 11 can be actuated both by hand and by an electric motor. The rotary movement by 180 is generally preferred in these presses because a vacuum stage in the punch, as indicated in the previous example, precedes the press casting of the metal. However, the case is also provided to allow two partial rotations of 90 'each for the workpiece holder, especially for the case when the stamp is filled by hand in order to give the staff time to carry out the relevant manipulations over time.
According to a further embodiment of the invention, instead of the punch movement within the ring 17, in order to ensure the lifting and lowering of the punch, the workpiece holder 11 can be provided adjustable along the column 2, with the up and down movements of the workpiece holder itself e.g. B. the lifting member 15 'is used. The actuation of the system is nevertheless not changed from that according to FIGS. 5-9.
Without departing from the scope of the invention, parts of the invention can also be designed differently.
