In einem Kanalofen wird die grösste Kohlcnersparnis dann erreicht, wenn man die Verbrennungsherde in dem Ofen selbst anbringt, damit die Gesamtheit der entwickelten Wärmemengen ausgenützt werden kann. Um aber die Verbrennung der Kohle zu einer vollständigen und wirtschaftlichen zu machen, muss den Verbronnungsherdon Luft zugeführt werden, welche. so heiss als möglich ist.
Den Gegenstand der Erfindung bildet eine Vorrichtung, welche es erlaubt, die an den Wänden des Ofens oder durch jedes andere Mittel erhitzte Luft nach den zwischen den einzelnen Wagen befindlichen Feuerungen des Ofens zu führen, und zwar durch den Spalt, der sich zwischen den feststehenden und den in Bewegung befindlichen Teilen des Ofens befindet.
