Die Zarge 1 ist mit einer als Lufteinlassöffnung dienenden Ausnehmung 4 versehen. Diese iS1 nach innen durch ein Blechformstück 5 abgedeckt, das einen bis zur Zarge 1 vorgezogenen und ge. bogenen, in der Mitte der Ausnehmung 4 liegenden Scheitel 6 aufweist. Die sich an den Scheitel anschliessenden Abschnitte des Blechformstückes 5 erstrecken sich über die Ausnehmung 4 hinaus

An dem vom Bodenteil 2 entfernten Rand der Zarge 1 ist ein Haltering 9 zur Aufnahme eines Dichtringes 10 vorgesehen. Dieser dient zum dichten Aufsetzen eines Deckels 11, der mi1 nicht dargestellten, leicht lösbaren Schnellverschlüssen bekannter Art mit dem Wandabschnitt 1 zt verbinden ist.
Der Deckel 11 hat in seiner Mitte eine Auslassöffnung 12 und ist nach seinerMittehin zu einen winklig abgesetzten Abschnitt 13 geprägt. Der Abschnitt 13 dient mit seiner vertikalen Innenfläche zum Führen des Filtereinsatzes 3 und zu dessen luftdichter Halterung. Auf den Abschnitt 13 ist aussen ein Reinluftschlauch 14 aufgesteckt und hier mit nicht dargestellten Mitteln befestigt. Der Ram des Deckels 11 ist der Form des Dichtringes 10 angepasst.
Beim Betrieb einer mit dem erfindungsgemässen Filter ausgerüsteten Brennkraftmaschine wird Ver. brennungsluft über die Einlassöffnung 4 angesaugt und gelangt über die Einlasskanäle 7 und 8 in der zwischen dem Filtereinsatz 3 und der Zarge 1 gebildeten Ringraum. Durch die besondere Ausbil. dung des Blechformstückes 5 und damit der Einlasskanäle 7 und 8 werden die Ansauggeräusche ge. dämpft. Die durch den Filtereinsatz 3 hindurchströmende Luft verlässt das Filtergehäuse über die Aus. lassöffnung 12 und gelangt über den Reinluftschlauch 14 zur Brennkraftmaschine.
