Bei der Erfindung wird eine hohe Lichtdurchlässigkeit und gleichmässige Lichtstreuung durch die Kombination einer an sich dünnen Granulatschichte mit einer vorwiegend tief profilierten Glas- oder Kunstglasplatte erhalten.
Einzelheiten der Erfindung werden an Hand der Zeichnung näher erläutert, welche eine beispielsweise Ausführungsform eines Glases schematisch veranschaulicht. Es zeigen Fig. 1 eine Draufsicht, Fig. 2 einen Querschnitt und Fig. 3 eine Draufsicht im Schaubild.
Auf der vorzugsweise aussen liegenden Oberfläche des Glases einer Lampenabdeckung sind etwa halbkugelige Erhebungen l, die durch eine tief liegende Profilierung 2 voneinander getrennt sind, angeordnet. Auf der Rückseite des Glases, die also normalerweise der Lichtquelle zugekehrt ist, ist ein Granulat 3 aufgebracht, welches z. B. aus prismatischen oder zylindrischen Körpern besteht. Über dem Granulat kann zur Befestigung eine Schutzschicht aufgebracht werden, die das Ausbrechen einzelner Granulatkörper verhindert.
