  Permanentmagnetische Werkstoffe

  Permanent magnetic materials
In the regeneration or processing of hydrochloric iron pickling liquors, it is known to spray the hydrochloric acid pickling liquors into hot flame gases for the purpose of roasting them. The hydrochloric acid is recovered as HCl gas and then further treated or reused in a suitable manner. The iron contained in the pickling liquors is obtained as iron (III) oxide in this process.

It has now been shown - and this forms the subject of the invention - that the iron oxide which is obtained in this way, after cleaning by washing with weakly acidic and / or neutral aqueous solutions, optionally drying, and subsequent annealing at temperatures above the Curie point of the material (i.e. above 6450 C) can be used to eliminate paramagnetism, for the production of permanent magnetic materials (ferrites).

It is extremely surprising that by simply washing the material in the manner indicated above, the chlorine ions and other impurities can be removed to the extent that is necessary for the highly qualified application. It is also surprising that the roasting method described produces a highly active oxide that is suitable for ferrite formation.

The invention thus shows a way for the technically meaningful and economically advantageous use of a material which is obtained in the processing of the pickling liquor which is constantly accumulating in large quantities.
