Impregnating liquid for wood.
A wide variety of means have been proposed for protecting wood against rot, which can essentially be divided into two groups. Either organic antiseptic substances such as tar or tar oil are used, or solutions of certain germicidal metal salts are used. The first type of process suffers from the disadvantage that the fire hazard of the wood is increased by painting or impregnation, while the second group of processes generally either does not provide sufficient anti-optic protection or, through undesirable side effects, destroys the wood in another way than that of putrefaction.
Iron vitriol, copper vitriol and zinc chloride play an important role among the solid metal salts which have been proposed for impregnating wood; from

Carbonates are decomposed; and on the other hand you cannot add any amount of soda to an aluminum sulfate solution without a precipitate being formed.
The subject of the present invention is now a process for the preparation of an impregnation liquid for Hotz, according to which it is possible to prevent the occurrence of a strong

EMI1.4
It is not necessary to add pure salts of the organic acid to solutions; you can rather z. B. start from raw wood vinegar and generate the ammonia salt by adding raw ammonia.
