<Desc/Clms Page number 2>
<Desc/Clms Page number 3>

Fruit press with several pressing stages and a rust-like conveyor belt
The invention relates to a fruit press with several pressing stages and a grate-like conveyor belt with which the product to be pressed can be guided under the individual pressing stages in batches, with webs arranged at least in the area of the first pressing stage for the lateral delimitation of the product to be pressed on the conveyor belt and at least in In the area of the pressing stages, devices for discharging the juice are arranged under the conveyor belt.
A press is known in which the webs for the lateral delimitation of the goods to be pressed out are arranged at a certain distance laterally next to the conveyor belt. This design of the press has the disadvantage that there are joints between the conveyor belt and the webs into which the material to be pressed can enter. Since the devices for discharging the juice are located under the conveyor belt, solid parts of the material to be pressed can get into the juice and cloud the juice.
Furthermore, fruit residues pressed into the joints, which can be very strongly compressed and therefore have considerable compressive strength, can considerably hinder the movements of the conveyor belt.
The invention is based on the object of avoiding these disadvantages of the known press.
This object is achieved according to the invention in that the webs are attached to the longitudinal edges of the press ram and protrude beyond the underside of the associated press ram by at least an amount that is equal to the distance between its underside from the conveyor belt in the lowest position of the press ram, and that the width of the conveyor belt is greater than the clear width between the webs.
With the arrangement of the webs according to the invention, the goods to be pressed out are well delimited by the webs on the conveyor belt and, at least in the lowest position of the punch, when the pressing pressure is greatest, the webs on the conveyor belt ensure that the goods to be pressed out are properly enclosed Good achieved. This is a major advantage over the known press.
In a preferred embodiment of the invention, the delimitation webs are spring-loaded in the direction of movement of the press ram and sit resiliently on the conveyor belt in the lowest position of the press ram. As a result, a good lateral closure of the goods to be pressed out located on the conveyor belt is achieved at a time at which the press ram has not yet reached its lowest position. It is even possible to design the webs and their suspension in such a way that the limiting webs remain in contact with the conveyor belt during the entire stroke of the press ram.
In a further embodiment of the invention, the delimitation webs can have holes or slots and can be covered with a cloth. The cloth prevents pomace residues from being squeezed out through the holes or slits together with the squeezed juice, which passes through the holes or slits to the outside into the collecting device. In order to be able to clean the cloth after each individual pressing process, it can advantageously be guided as an endless belt around the and lower edge of the delimitation web. Preferably, the cloth is indexed step by step after each stroke of the press ram and the step length by which the cloth is advanced corresponds approximately to the layer height of the material to be pressed out.
The cloth stands still at the moment in which the press ram of a pressing stage goes down.
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
In a further embodiment of the invention, the cloth is guided over rollers, which are preferably spring-loaded. One of these rollers is then expediently driven by a drive motor which drives this roller preferably only when the ram of the pressing stage goes up, i.e. H. when the pressing process is finished. The motor then runs until the cloth has been rotated further by the height that is roughly the same as the layer height of the material to be pressed out. The rollers around which the cloth is guided can be designed in various ways, for example their surface can be corrugated so that the rollers can better grasp the cloth and thereby guide it further with certainty.
According to a special feature of the invention, however, one of the two rollers has warts or the like, which engage in the cloth when the cloth is advanced. The particular advantage of this embodiment is that the warts or the like not only ensure a particularly reliable switching of the cloth, but that they can also serve to remove any residue from the cloth. Instead of warts, rounded needles can also be provided, for example. When the roller is rotated, the needles or warts dig into the cloth and can thereby, for example, loosen already dried pomace residues at least to such an extent that they fall off the cloth when the roller is rotated further.
In order to be able to clean the cloth properly even with particularly strongly adhering pomace, a device for blowing off the pomace residues with compressed air is arranged in a further embodiment of the invention in the vicinity of the needle or nipple roller.
Further details of the invention emerge from the following description of an embodiment of the invention in conjunction with the drawings, in which an embodiment of the invention is shown. It showFig. A schematic side view of the fruit press according to the invention, FIG. 2 on an enlarged scale a section along the line II-II in FIG. 1, FIG. 3 a plan view of the arrangement according to FIG. 2 in the direction of the arrow III and FIG. 4 on an enlarged scale a side view of the conveyor belt of the fruit press according to the invention in the area of the machine end.
In the embodiment of the invention shown in FIG. 1, a conveyor belt 23 is guided over deflection rollers 3, 4, 5 and 6 on a machine frame 1. The guide roller 6 is designed as a chain wheel and is driven by a motor 7. An endless press cloth 32 is loosely placed on the conveyor belt 23 and is lifted off the conveyor belt 23 at the end of the machine and diverted via a deflection roller 43 to a washing device described later. The conveyor belt 23 is passed through several stations 8, 9, 10, 11 in batches. In front of the pressing station 8 there is a filling funnel 12 which applies a predetermined amount of mash to the conveyor belt 23.
2-4, the grate-like conveyor belt 23 with the endless press cloth 32 placed on it and webs 22 for the lateral delimitation of the goods placed on the conveyor belt 23 are shown in more detail. The webs 22 are attached to the longitudinal edges of the press ram 21. The webs are dimensioned in such a way that, in the lowest position of the press ram 21, they just reach down to the conveyor belt 23. In order to avoid any damage that could be caused by a previous placement of the bars, these are slidably mounted in boxes 24 and supported against the bottom with the aid of a spring 25. The boxes 25 are fastened to the transverse surfaces of the stamp 21 by means of tabs 26.
These tabs 26 are provided with extensions 27 and 28 which serve to support deflection rollers 29 and 30 over which an endless cloth band 31 is placed, which also loops around the lower edge of the corresponding web 22.
The belts 31 serve in the same way as the press cloth 32 present on the conveyor belt 23 to prevent the pomace from clogging the slits 33 present in the webs 22, which are intended to ensure a good drainage of the pressed juice.
In order to keep the belts 31 surrounding the slide 22 clean, the upper rollers 30 are driven with the aid of a motor 34 attached to the punch 21 and the bevel gears 35 so that, after each stroke of the punch 21, they are moved gradually by a length approximately equal to the height of the layer of the goods to be pressed out on the conveyor belt 23 is the same.
With each pressing process, a different, cleaned section of the cloth comes to rest on the side of the webs 22 facing the material to be pressed out. The remaining part of the belt can be cleaned easily in the meantime. For this purpose, in the machine shown, the roller 29 is provided with rounded needles or warts 36, which penetrate the tissue from which the band 31 is formed and remove pomace attached to it. This is particularly advantageous when squeezing soft fruit. Furthermore, a pipe 37 with air nozzles is provided in order to blow off any remaining pomace that is still adhering. The repelled and blown pomace are collected in the tub 38, which prevents this pomace from getting into the juice channels 39, the
<Desc / Clms Page number 3>
are also covered with a protective screen 40.
The delimitation webs 22 achieve a lateral closure of the product to be pressed out located under the press ram 21, which makes the attachment of otherwise customary foldable edges to the press blanket 32 superfluous. It is sufficient if this extends as far as the lateral delimitation webs 22, as shown in FIG. The lack of foldable edges also makes it possible to dispense with fastening the press blanket 32 on the conveyor belt 23. Like the conveyor belt 23 itself, it can therefore be designed as an endless belt that is guided over rollers and rests loosely on the conveyor belt 23 in the area of the pressing stages. This has the advantage that the press cloth can be exchanged without any effort independently of the conveyor belt.
However, it is particularly advantageous that the press blanket 32 can have a greater length than the conveyor belt 23 and therefore, as shown in FIG. 4, can be lifted off the conveyor belt 23 at the end of the machine, for example. This makes it possible to separately wash and clean the conveyor belt 23, which is guided over rollers 48 and 49 at the end of the machine, with the aid of a spray device 50. The conveyor belt 23 can now be designed in a particularly simple and expedient manner as a grate belt with transverse rods 41 arranged one behind the other at a distance, which are fastened at their ends to links of a link chain 42.
The longer pressed fabric 32 is continued somewhat in the direction of the upper run of the conveyor belt and deflected over a roller 43. The pomace 44 located on the press cloth 32 break after the deflection of the press cloth 32 behind the roller 43 and fall off the belt. Remnants of pomace 45 still adhering can then be removed by means of a rotating brush 46. As a further cleaning agent, a pipe 47 with air nozzles is indicated in FIG. 4, which is used to blow off the last remaining pomace.
It goes without saying that the invention is not restricted to the exemplary embodiments shown.
In particular, use could be made of hydraulic or pneumatic means to press the delimitation webs and / or to drive the belt surrounding the webs. Furthermore, for example, the conveyor belt could be designed in a different way and the press cloth lifted off the conveyor belt at a different point. In addition to the press ram of the first press stage, the delimitation webs can also be attached to the press rams of other stages if the type of product to be pressed out requires it.
