Description

Area measuring machine for leather u. like

In the previously known area measuring machines for leather u. Like. With measuring wheels set in motion exclusively by the material to be measured, the engagement of the gears, through which the measuring wheels act on several segments moving the display device, was interrupted by the fact that the measuring wheels were lifted through the leather.

In this case, teeth could easily come into contact with one another when the wheels came together, causing interference or inaccurate measurements.

In addition, in order to prevent unintentional rotations (or, if held, loosening of the measuring wheels) when the machine was idling, the measuring wheels were suspended at a certain distance from the feed roller below them. As a result, the effect of the measuring wheels was uncertain with thin leather or with thin areas of the material to be measured.

According to the present invention, these inconveniences are now remedied by the fact that the gearwheels remain constantly in engagement with one another, in that they are supported on fixed supports.

In the drawing, FIG. 1 shows a part of the machine in a front view, FIG. 2 shows a section across the machine and FIG. 3 shows the arrangement of the measuring wheels and other parts. The measuring wheels 1, which are mounted in a known manner in levers m, are supported on solid supports h and by means of gear wheels k are constantly in engagement with d (n segments l moving the display device. The latter are suspended in levers n in a known manner on the gears k and by means of the Mcsswheels! also on the fixed supports A.

If the leather to be measured is now pushed between the measuring wheels i and their solid supports h, the measuring wheels i and thus also the segments l lifted, whereby the levers n, influenced by weights o, swing back accordingly.
 EMI1.1
disks f are provided. These combs are expediently represented on a roller b, and the fixed supports h, which are attached to the frame a of the machine, engage in the grooves e between the combs as curved arms that adapt to the roller circumference.

Since the wheels are supported on solid supports, the skins in the strips that pass between the supports and the measuring wheel are not pushed forward by the machine, but only those on both sides over the combs f
 EMI1.2
Press the Mcssgut firmly onto a larger part of the circumference of the combs and are taken along by them.
