Self-operated circuit breaker for electrical overhead lines.

The subject matter of the present invention relates to an automatic power switch for electrical overhead lines, which is set up in such a way that the same automatically interrupts and thereby interrupts the electrical current when the line wire breaks
 EMI1.1
People. This purpose is achieved in that the circuit breaker has two contact parts, which are rotatably mounted on a pin which is also insulated. When the wire breaks, one of the contact parts is pivoted downwards due to its weight, whereby the contact is interrupted and the current between the two circuit-breakers located at the crack point is momentarily interrupted.

The essence of the invention is that the connection of the mentioned pivot with the transverse wires is mediated by tensioning frames screwed onto the pin ends, in the outer ends of which pins provided with the thread of the pivot are screwed opposite thread, for the purpose of rotating the tensioning frame to be able to stretch the cross wires more or less.

Such a power switch is shown in the drawing, namely: FIG. 1 shows the same in side view, FIG. 2 in plan view, FIG. 3 in side view in the switched-off state, FIG. 4 in cross section along the line from FIG. 1 in the direction of FIG associated arrows.

The power switch consists of two parts 1 and 2, which are rotatably mounted on a pin 3. The bores of the two parts are provided with insulating inserts 4, for example ebonite, which isolate the two parts from the pin 3.

These holes are advantageous respectively. Inserts designed square, as the illustrated embodiment shows; however, they can also be designed differently as desired. Insulating pads 5, for example hard rubber plates, are attached to the contact surfaces of the two parts 1 and 2 and insulate the two parts from one another. The current transfer from one part to the other is only mediated by a comb 6 mounted above it, both parts of which are supported by arms 7, one of which is attached to the two switch parts.

The two parts 1 and 2 are provided at their ends with suitably shaped cavities 8 for receiving the conductor wires, which are advantageously attached by soldering.

The pin 3 has a right-hand thread 9 at its two weaker ends
 EMI1.2
Nut 11 is screwed, which serves to press the two parts 1 and 2 against each other. A tensioning frame 12 is screwed onto the free ends of the pins on both sides, and a pin 13 with a left-hand thread provided at the end with an eyelet is screwed into each of the opposite ends. The pins 13 are connected to the transverse wires. By rotating the tensioning frame 12, the transverse wire loosening after a long period of time can be tightened again.

As soon as the overhead wire breaks at any point, one part of the two adjacent circuit breakers is pivoted downwards as a result of the pull exerted by the falling end of the wire, whereby the two associated cam contacts are interrupted and the current between the circuit breakers at the point of the crack is automatically switched off .

Another advantage of the present circuit breaker is that since the pivot 8 is completely isolated from the line. the cross wires can be attached to every pole, every house, even to every highly conductive body without prior insulation, since short-circuiting appears to be impossible. which means that expensive insulation can also be omitted.
