Beispiel 2,Ein inniges Gemisch gleicher Toile trockenen symmetrischen Dimethyl- harnstoffes und Natriumamid wird nach der in Beispiel 1 beschriebenen Weise mit Cyanessigester behandelt. Es entsteht dabei in glatter Reaktion das Natronsalz des 1. 3-Dimethyl- 2. 6-dioxy-4-aminopyrimidin, welches sodann in bekannter Weise auf die freie Base verarbeitet wird.
Beispiel 3. Molekulare Mengen von Cyanessigoster und Methylharnstoff werden in der im Beispiel 1 beschriebenen Weise in Reaktion gebracht. Durch Auflösen der gebildeten Natronschmelze in Wasser und Fällen mit Essigsäure erhält man das schon von Traube beschriebene 3-Methyl-2,6-dioxy-4-aminoyrimidin in vorzüglicher Ausbeute.

Example 2, an intimate mixture of the same toilet dry symmetrical dimethyl urea and sodium amide is treated in the manner described in Example 1 with cyanoacetic ester. The sodium salt of 1,3-dimethyl-2,6-dioxy-4-aminopyrimidine is formed in a smooth reaction, which is then processed to the free base in a known manner.
Example 3. Molecular amounts of cyanoacetic ester and methylurea are reacted in the manner described in Example 1. By dissolving the sodium melt formed in water and precipitating it with acetic acid, the 3-methyl-2,6-dioxy-4-aminoyrimidine already described by Traube is obtained in excellent yield.
