Die Erfindung betrifft eine Neuerung an solchen Vorrichtungen, wobei durch gleichzeitige Anordnung besonders ausgestalteter Kanäle und Flüssigkeitszerstäubung eine bessere Reinigung erreicht und gleichzeitig auch ein Kühlen oder Erwärmen, Befeuchten oder Desinfizieren der Luft durchgeführt werden kann.

Das Ausscheiden der Staubteile erfolgt in der Weise, dass die Luft infolge der Schleudorkraft die schwereren Teilchen gegen die äussere, möglichst glatte Kanalwand führt. wo sie haften bleiben, um dann durch die sich ansammelnde Flüssigkeit weiter geleitet zu werden.
Die allmähliche Verengung des Kanalquerschnittes bewirkt, dass die Luftgeschwindigkoit an der Vereinigungsstelle beider Kanäle am grössten wird, so dass die durchziehende Luft heftig gegen den vor der Verengung gebildeten Flüssigkeitsnebel stösst, wobei der Staub durch Vermengen mit Flüssigkeit ausgeschieden wird. Ferner werden Verunreinigungen bei der Umkehr durch den dort erzeugten Luftwirbel und an den die Austrittsöffnung mitbildenden Schneckenflächen ausgeschieden. Die gereingte Luft tritt oben aus, wobei der Kanal zur Verminderung der Luftgeschwindigkeit wieder erweitert ist.
Die an der Innenwand des Gehäuses ablaufende Flüssigkeit wird an den tiefsten Stellen der Schnecken bei f und d abgeleitet.
