  Insulator for electric lines.

The purpose of the insulator forming the subject of the present invention is to grasp and hold wires of different diameters without the otherwise customary wire binding.

Insulators have already become known which have wire grooves of different diameters in a lower part and which enable the wire to be fastened without binding. However, these insulators are provided with screw threads for screwing onto the insulator support and can only be secured against twisting when the wire is tensioned if the insulators are fully screwed onto the support. If the groove corresponding to the wire to be clamped is not exactly in the direction of the wire, the insulator must be loosened or tightened less firmly in the corresponding groove
 EMI1.1
secure fastening in each position corresponding to the four grooves remedied these l'bel stands.

The surrounding drawing shows, in FIGS. 1 and 2, an example of an embodiment of the subject of the invention in vertical section and top view.

The insulator consists of the lower part a with the threaded pin a 'and the cap b screwed to the latter. The inside of the lower part a has a square fastening hole, by means of which the insulator is fastened to the likewise square carrier c. The curved grooves d, which have four different diameters, serve to accommodate the wire. The wire is fastened by the screw-on cap b, which presses the wire into the grooves and clamps it. The curves of the
 EMI1.2
Touches the wire over its entire length. Sufficient friction is generated by bending the wire after the curve of the groove and by screwing on the cap. to prevent the wire from being pulled through.

The square hole of the isolator allows. to attach the insulator in all cases in such a way that the tension of the wire during laying always acts in the direction that causes the cap to be screwed tight.

The square cross-section of the carrier, which corresponds to the fastening hole of the insulator, enables the insulator to be fastened in four different positions, such as the wire thickness and the corresponding row, and the insulator is secured against twisting when the wire is tensioned. The elimination of the thread both in the insulator base and on the carrier means that production is simpler and cheaper.
