Process for the production of photomechanical printing forms.
In the methods used up to now for the production of photomechanical printing plates, in which the areas exposed by development print, the difficulty has to be overcome that the image of the drawing is produced by coating the plates with the first photosensitive layer, in which the image of the drawing is produced The surface of the plate is influenced in that it is made reluctantly or completely insensitive to the acceptance of printing ink by contact with the substances of the photosensitive layer, while it is important that the image produced in the photosensitive layer is very inclined to accept printing ink do.
This difficulty is overcome more or less reliably in different ways in the various methods. Either the surface of the picture is chemically treated by using an acid to dissolve the extremely thin surface layer, which causes the reluctance to paint, or the surface affected by the light-sensitive layer is removed mechanically by grinding, or finally the surface is removed with one on the latte adherent and eagerly accepting the color is coated.
The present invention now solves this question in a simple way in that a substance or an acid is added to the photosensitive layer, which is either the
EMI1.1
The process is carried out in the following way: The photosensitive layer is given an additive of an etching agent which strongly corrodes the printing plate, e.g. B. given one of those acids with which the metal plates concerned are treated when they are to be prepared for corrections after the etching. These acids are well known and vary according to the metal. For example, a little sulfuric acid is added to the photosensitive layer.
The plate is treated with this layer in the usual way, the image can be washed out with cold water and the plate is now coated with any suitable fatty substance which adheres to the washed-out image areas and allows the photosensitive layer to pass through after a short time Immersion in an acid bath; so z. B. for aluminum in weak nitric
