 <Desc/Clms Page number 2>

 EMI2.1

  Handle for electric collectors
The invention relates to a handle for electrical collectors, in particular for motor vehicles, the ends of which protrude through the edge strips of the collector and are secured against being pulled off, the ends of the handle being bent in alignment with the elongated holes arranged in the edge strips by the maximum width, and wherein a securing part is inserted into each elongated hole from below, which fills the part of the elongated hole left free by the handle, and which further has a bent section which is arranged between a lower surface of the edge strips and the bent end of the handle, and furthermore the elongated hole in its lower area has a substantially step-shaped extension to accommodate the bent portion of the securing part, according to patent no. 283479.

   The parent patent describes a handle that can be pulled up out of the edge strip when in use. Now, however, it is often desirable that the electrical collector can be pulled or pushed in an essentially horizontal direction with the aid of the handle.

  Such manipulations are very often when entering or. Expansion and storage on shelves or the like. Required. The handle according to the parent patent can be bent during this work and then possibly no longer pushed into the edge strip.

   The invention now relates to a carrying handle in which the above disadvantage is eliminated. Such a handle is characterized in that the step-shaped extension has a depth which corresponds to at least twice the thickness of the ends of the handle, and that the elongated holes are partially open through recesses to the outer side surface of the edge strip, the grooves from the top of the Edge strip extend to the underside of the ends of the handle in the working position. This measure makes it possible to pivot the handle into a horizontal position in the working position. It can no longer be bent when tightening the electrical collector; this prevents damage to the edge strip.

   The invention will now be explained in more detail by way of example with reference to the drawings. 1 shows a carrying handle according to the invention in a view (in the installed state) and FIG. 2 shows the carrying handle according to FIG. 1 in a plan view, partly in section.

   As shown in the drawings, an accumulator housing - 1 - has an edge strip - 2 - in which elongated holes - 3 and 4 - are provided. In the lower section these indicate
 EMI1.1
 the edge strip --2-- open. These recesses --15 - extend from the top of the edge strips to the bottom of the ends-8, 9- of the handle that are in the working position

 <Desc / Clms Page number 2>

 EMI2.1

   The elongated holes - 3, 4 - are at least as wide as the bent ends - 8, 9 - of the handle - 5 - are long.
 EMI2.2
 To avoid between the elongated hole and the outer sides - 16 - of the edge strip - 2 -, the web located between the lowest point of the recess - 15 - and the underside of the edge strip should have a sufficiently large thickness. When dimensioning, it should also be taken into account that careless handling of the handle can be pushed further down beyond its horizontal position. In this case, the web is also subjected to shear stress.

   Therefore, in order to ensure sufficient strength of the web, it is an essential prerequisite that it is integrally connected to the edge strip. If the bar were to be screwed on, it could very easily become loosened if handled roughly, which would greatly reduce the strength of the entire system.

   In the further development according to the invention, as with the parent patent, the carrying handle can be easily dismantled with simple and cheap aids. The handle does not have to be bent during assembly, which means that far more useful materials and cheaper manufacturing processes can be selected for it. It can be bent much more precisely on devices and possibly reworked.
