Der durch den Umschmelzvorgang in der wassergekühlten Kokille --10-- gebildete erstarrte Stahlblock--13-ruht auf der Bodenplatte --9-- auf. Die elektrische Spannung-U--, welche die abschmelzende Hauptelektrode --8-- gegenüber dem gebildeten Stahlblock--13-aufweist, ändert sich mit der Zeit-t-in der aus Fig.
3 des Stammpatentes ersichtlichen Weise.
Der für die erfmdungsgemässe Anlage erforderliche bauliche Aufwand und infolgedessen auch ihre Herstellungskosten sind besonders niedrig. Ein weiterer Vorteil dieser Anlage besteht darin, dass sie, obwohl bei ihr nur jeweils eine abschmelzende Hauptelektrode vorhanden ist, ohne weiteres an ein normales Drehstromnetz angeschlossen werden darf, da sie keine unsymmetrische Belastung desselben verursacht. Gegenüber den bekannten, mit Wechsel-oder Drehstrom betriebenen Anlagen zum Elektroschlackenumschmelzen von Metallen bietet die erfindungsgemässe Anlage ausserdem den sehr beträchtlichen Vorteil, dass sich bei ihr wesentlich höhere Leistungsfaktoren erzielen lassen.
Dies ist darauf zurückzuführen, dass der in dem Einphasenstromkreis (der bei dem vorstehenden Ausführungsbeispiel von der elektrischen Leitung-6-, der abschmelzenden Hauptelektrode - -8--, der Schlackenschicht --11--, der Metallschmelze-12-, dem erstarrten Stahlblock - -13--, der Bodenplatte --9-- und der elektrischen Leitung --7-- gebildet ist) auftretende induktive Spannungsabfall verhältnismässig sehr gering ist, wenn in diesem Stromkreis mit Grundfrequenzen gearbeitet wird, die wesentlich kleiner als die normale Netzfrequenz, z. B. 5 bis 10 Hz, sind.
PATENTANSPRÜCHE :
1. Anlage zum Elektroschlackenumschmelzen von Metallen, insbesondere von Stählen, die durch ein Drehspannungssystem gespeist ist, nach Patent Nr.283613, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass an die Hauptleiter (2) und an den Sternpunktleiter (3) des z. B. drei-oder sechsphasigen Drehspannungssystems Thyristorsätze (4) angeschlossen sind, welche den vorzugsweise heruntertransformierten Drehstrom in einen Einphasenstrom, dessen Richtung sich periodisch ändert, umrichten und dass die jeweils abzuschmelzende Hauptelektrode (8) in üblicher Weise in diesen Einphasenstromkreis (6, 8, 11, 12, 13, 9, 7) geschaltet ist.

The structural effort required for the system according to the invention and consequently also its production costs are particularly low. Another advantage of this system is that it can be connected to a normal three-phase network without further ado, even though it only has one main electrode that fuses, since it does not cause an asymmetrical load on the same. Compared with the known systems operated with alternating current or three-phase current for electro-slag remelting of metals, the system according to the invention also offers the very considerable advantage that it can achieve significantly higher performance factors.
This is due to the fact that in the single-phase circuit (the one in the above exemplary embodiment from the electrical line -6-, the melting main electrode -8-, the slag layer -11-, the molten metal -12-, the solidified steel block - -13--, the base plate --9-- and the electrical line --7-- is formed) the inductive voltage drop that occurs is relatively very small when working with fundamental frequencies in this circuit that are significantly lower than the normal mains frequency, z. B. 5 to 10 Hz.
PATENT CLAIMS:
