Automatically re-erecting trap for mice and similar pests.
The subject of the present invention is an automatically re-erecting trap for mice and similar pests with a horizontally stored, one-sided weighted trap drum and waste wippo.
It is especially intended for mass trapping and differs from known trap designs of this type in that it is much faster and safer to catch. These advantages are achieved by the fact that all moving parts of the trap are absolutely fixed during the creeping up of the animal, so that the animal does not notice the danger in which it is going and the movements of the relevant parts of the trap
EMI1.1
the animal is caught with the aid of a drum that is triggered by the same and tilted by its weight.
In the example shown, this tilting drum does not have a closed one

If it is directed upwards on the rear leg

Both movements require the animal to rest on the back of the bridge. crawl wherever the rays of light falling from there and the bait to be attached in the stem are particularly lured. In this way it is achieved that the animal must have penetrated deep into the trap before it notices any movement.
At this moment, however, the triggering occurs with a rapid tilting of the drum, which prevents the escape backwards. The lower edge of the slip-in opening k projects slightly over the tipping bridge o so that the animal does not grasp the latter with its paws
EMI2.1
Drum housing fixed or movably attached catch nose q, the arrangement of which, corresponding to the locking pins p, is provided either lying on the ceiling or on the floor of the housing or standing upright.
The tilting bridge 0 does not need to be particularly built into the catch tube a, rather the entire lower part of the latter or its lower half can be designed as such and its axis can be attached to the fixed upper part. You can also omit the catching tube a entirely and instead equip an upper drum quarter with the tilting bridge o, while the drum shell can also remain completely or partially to save material and to achieve faster tilting after triggering.
To achieve the latter purpose, the tilting bridge influencing the drum film locking and release device can o move as far as possible around the circumference of the drum, u. between lying approximately at the level of the drum axis of rotation c, as on this
EMI2.2
Lever arms that are as long as possible can act and a tilting moment which is extremely favorable for rapid tilting is achieved.
EMI2.3
and thorn weights d prevent any movement of the drum in the catching position, so that the animal is not aware of the danger it is entering while sniffing. However, as soon as it enters the rear leg of the tipping bridge o, it sinks and moves the locking pin p so that it is released by the nose q.
The locking pin can be rigid, movable or made up of two articulated parts. A hollow stem provided with a slider at the front of the drum housing is intended to give the animal access to the hatch.
EMI2.4
Hole l in the rear drum housing wall h opens into an ascending channel s, from wplchell1 ohpn a lateral opening leads to a waste device. This is accessible from above through a sliding or other cover and underneath is the

posed.
1) ie. Waste pre-rotation consists of a horizontal testicle M 'swinging around pin v in the direction of the jury, which is held in its rest or equilibrium position by a weight lever x. This base is provided with side walls y, which correspond to one of the opening t Clearances are located and need not extend over the entire length of the same. Light can fall on the waste device through a suitably arranged opening and arouse the curiosity of the animal. The opening t is closed by a transparent, movably suspended flap z, which must be pushed open inward .
During the pushing up, it steps between the side walls y and thereby holds the rocker base to against lateral deflection or pendulum movements, but releases it again immediately after it has fallen back.
The mode of operation of the described animal trap is as follows: The animal first gets through the slip-in opening k onto the front leg of the tipping bridge o the one-sided weighted and fixed catch drum, which initially remains immobile. However, as soon as it gets on the rear tilting bridge leg, this lowers slightly as a result of the load, so that the. The locking pin lifts out of the catch q and releases the drum. The weight of the animal now overcomes the one-sided weight d of the drum. so that it tilts with the animal by 90 and the latter can escape through the opening l to the ascending channel s.
The relieved drum then immediately returns to the catching position under the action of the weight d, the locking pin p sliding over the catching naso q and catching behind it again.
The trapped animal now seeks a way out in the channel s and finds it in the opening t leading to the waste device. The flap s pushes it open inwards so that it slides between the side walls y of the rocker base w and falls back again as soon as the animal has passed completely through the opening t. The flap z will advantageously be made transparent so that light can fall through it. The one that is pushed open inward and that is located between the walls y during this time
<Desc / Clms Page number 3>
Flap z holds the rocker base w firmly and prevents any lateral movement so that the animal, not feeling anything conspicuous, enters it calmly and safely.
As soon as the whole body has passed the flap, the flap t: falls back and the seesaw is no longer held. It now tilts with the animal on it immediately and easily to one side or the other, lets the animal fall off and returns to its equilibrium or starting position under the effect of weight a; back.

that thorough cleaning is also possible.
