Das gab aber negative Resultate, weil die Kalzinmschlacke zu strongnüssig war, woraus sich mit Evidenz ergibt, dass das Ver. halten der Kalzium-Siliziummischung eventuell in Verbindung mit anderen Metallen als etwas Eigenartiges zu betrachten ist. Beispielsweise reduziert das metallische Kalzium wohl Cbronmoxyd, aber eine einheitliche Abscheidung von Chrom als Regulus findet-hiebei nicht statt. Auch verläuft die Reaktion mit reinem Kalzium zum Teil ausserordentlich heftig, wie z. B. bei der Reduktion von Eisenoxyd mit Kalzium, so dass diese technisch nicht zu verwerten ist.
