Description

   <Desc/Clms Page number 1>

   The invention relates to a profile frame for receiving glass panes, plates or the like, consisting of a basic profile of approximately rectangular cross-section with a contact strip for the glass pane and of a retaining strip with an open cross-section for the opposite side of the pane, with the retaining strip in the open profile a bar anchored to the base profile engages with a web and thereby presses the retaining bar against the base profile.

   In a known frame of this type, the retaining bar is fixed on the one hand by the engagement of the bar, which is integrally formed with the base profile and thus anchored there, and on the other hand by supporting a toothed part of the retaining bar on an equally toothed support surface of the base profile.

  However, the production of toothing on profiles is relatively expensive and still does not provide the necessary security for fixing the retaining bar.

   The invention has set itself the goal of eliminating this disadvantage of the known frames and of creating a profile frame which, with a simple structure and thus simple manufacture, can also withstand high loads, in particular high wind pressure. This goal is achieved in that the resilient bar is clamped with its foot in a slot formed by the base profile and the contact bar and that the retaining bar engages behind the resilient bar with a web on the one hand to secure against transverse displacement and on the other hand engages in an undercut groove in the base profile . As numerous tests have shown, in a frame designed in this way, the connection between the base profile and the retaining strips is actually so tight that it is not released even under the toughest stress.

   The invention is described in more detail below using an exemplary embodiment shown in the drawing, without, however, being limited to this example. In the drawing, a part of a door is shown in section.

   According to the drawing, the fixed frame of the door consists of a basic profile into which an additional profile - 2 - is inserted. The profile --1-- can be fixed in a wall opening, as indicated by dashed lines, and the additional profile - 2 - serves as a stop bar for the movable frame. Otherwise, the profiles - 1 and 2 - of the fixed frame are designed the same as the profiles - 10 and 20 - of the movable frame.
 EMI1.1
    --10-- of the basic profile --10-- a contact strip formed in one piece with it - 3 - which has a part - 4 - which is set back to the basic profile.

   A slot - 6 - is left free between the part - 4--, the bar - 3 - and the main cross-section - -5-- of the basic profile --10--.

   The basic profile - 10 - also has a groove - 7-- which is undercut on its inner side at - 8--. A retaining bar - 9 - is provided with a web - 11 - that goes into the groove - S--
 EMI1.2
 The retaining strip - 9 - also act as a glazing strip in the example shown, in that they accommodate a pane between them.
