Description

   <Desc/Clms Page number 1>

It has already been proposed to pass elevator tapes for slat blinds through elongated holes which run parallel to the slat edges. Since the slats only make insignificant movements with respect to the elevator tapes when the blind is raised and lowered and there is practically no friction and therefore no significant noise generation, it is pretty unimportant how the holes and elevator cords are designed for this purpose.

The situation is different with the tensioning straps, since the slats slide along them.

So far ropes or cords have been used for this purpose, which are passed through elongated holes or slats. Because of the round cross-section of the bracing ropes or cords, the holes in the lamellae, which are oblong to the course of the lamellas, are relatively long in order to ensure that the lamellas can be turned properly by 1800.

However, this previous bracing of light metal slat blinds does not result in low noise levels in the blind. Furthermore, the lamellas are severely weakened by the large punchings.

The invention relates to a tensioning device for light metal venetian blinds, in which a complete low noise level is achieved in that the holes serving the guide are designed as elongated holes which slide with little play on tensioned bands passing through them, elongated holes and bands being parallel run to the longitudinal edges of the lamellas.

Ribbons made of braided synthetic fibers are advantageously used for this. Such plastic bands can also be provided with a steel fiber insert to increase their strength.

The drawings show an exemplary embodiment of the subject matter of the invention, u. FIG. 1 shows the partial front view of a light metal lamellar blind and FIG. 2 shows a side view thereof.

One is attached to each of the two sides of the head strip --1-- attached to the top of the window frame

held. The lamellas --7-- are provided with relatively small, elongated in the direction of the lamellae punchings --8-- through which the band --5 - is pulled.

The lamellas can be pivoted at an angle of 1800 on the belt, which is expediently 0.5 to 0.8 mm thick and about 5 mm wide. Due to the small clearance that the bands have in the cut-outs, which have a length of about 7 to 8 mm in the aforementioned band width, as well as the material of the selected bands, complete freedom from noise is achieved and the slats slide in despite the small margin up and down easily at any angle. The small, elongated cut-outs only slightly weaken the lamellae.

Elevator cords or the like are used in a known manner to pull up and lower the slats.

Achieving noiselessness is naturally of particular importance with metal louvre blinds. In principle, however, the arrangement according to the invention can also be used with lamellae made of other material, such as in particular plastic.

    PATENT CLAIMS:
1. Bracing device for light metal venetian blinds, in which the individual slats slide on tensioned cords, ropes or the like by means of holes provided on the slats at both ends, characterized in that the holes used for guidance consist of elongated holes (8) with Slight play on the tensioned strips (5) inserted in the elongated holes, with elongated holes and strips running parallel to the longitudinal strips of the lamellae.
