  Tube for pneumatic conveyors.

The previously known pneumatic conveying devices for wood waste, dust, wheat and other small-fiber or granular bulk goods generally have the disadvantage of a relatively high power consumption. This excessively high power consumption has mainly been a hindrance to the general spread of this conveyor system. The reason for the poor efficiency of the previous pneumatic conveying devices is that the horizontally, obliquely or arcuately guided tubes had a circular or equilateral cross-section.

The material to be conveyed sinks because of its own weight in the conveying pipe, so that the wind can actually only hit and carry away the grains etc. to be conveyed on the surface of the pipe base. The entire amount of wind that passes the upper part of the delivery pipe does not contribute to the delivery and is lost.

The object of the present invention is intended to remedy this drawback, u. between the fact that the useful effect of the pneumatic conveying is greater and the air consumption is brought into an economically correct relationship to the conveying work.

The invention consists in that the cross-section of the conveyor pipe, contrary to the previous statements, is chosen so that it has the greatest possible width, ie low height, so that the surface on which the wind can hit and drag the granular material is as large as possible. Since the conveyed mass, i.e. the given cross-sectional area, grows approximately in proportion to the width of the floor area, in order to achieve the best efficiency, the height of the pipe cross-section is not made larger than just necessary to allow the largest components of the conveyed material to pass easily.

Another great advantage of a conveying pipe according to the present invention is that when it is used for a mass of a product to be conveyed, much less wind is required, that is to say much less wind has to be separated from the product when it is deposited. The cyclones or filters are therefore significantly smaller. The drawing
