The invention relates to an end closure made of plastic for plastic-insulated high-voltage cables, in particular made of polyethylene, with a homogeneous, capacitively controlled end closure lobe welded to the cable insulation.
Known terminations for with a thermoplastic material, for example with polyethylene, insulated high-voltage cables consist of a housing surrounding the cable end with a
Impregnating agent is filled. Inside the housing there is a capacitively controlled end closure lobe, which can for example consist of wrapped insulating paper or plastic tape. Such terminations have the disadvantages that they cannot be prefabricated; H. that they cannot already be connected to the cable in the factory and transported rolled up with it, since they cannot be bent due to the rigid housing. Since the known terminations are only installed at the place where the cables are being laid, it is also not possible to check whether they are corona-free when exposed to alternating voltage.
As a result, there is always uncertainty about the actual electrical strength of such terminations.
The invention is based on the object of creating a cable termination, in particular for high-voltage polyethylene cables, which is elastic enough to be wound with the connected cable on a cable drum, which is still resistant to outdoor use and is also resistant to leakage current at the highest voltages. According to the invention, this is achieved in that a tracking current-resistant shrink tube and at least one tracking current-resistant shrink shield are shrunk onto the end closure lobe.
The inventive combination of the end closure lobe made of plastic, for example polyethylene, the elastic outer shrink tube and the likewise elastic shrink shields make the entire end closure bendable and can thus be transported on a cable drum together with the connected cable. There is also the advantage that the end cap can be completely assembled with the cable and electrically tested in the factory.
According to an advantageous embodiment of the invention, an adhesion-promoting layer, preferably a copolymer tape, is arranged between the shrink shield and the shrink tube. Due to the heat required for the shrinking on, this copolymer tape melts, so that the shrink shield and the shrink tube weld to one another via this adhesive layer. It is also advantageous if the creepage-resistant shrink tubing extends down to the conductor protruding from the end closure. This results in a moisture-tight closure of the entire end closure.
By combining the capacitively controlled polyethylene end cap with the creep current resistant elements, shrink shield and shrink tubing, these parts can be used to manufacture end caps for high voltage cables (voltage range approx. 110 KV) without porcelain insulators.
According to the invention, the shrink tube and the shrink shields can be made of radiation-crosslinked polyolefin, preferably polyethylene, whereby the outdoor resistance of the plastic is achieved so that the entire end closure can be used under outdoor conditions.
The invention is explained in more detail using the exemplary embodiments shown in the drawing.
The drawing shows an end closure according to the invention with an end closure lobe wound from polyethylene tape.
The cable end freed from the cable sheath --1-- consists of an inner conductor --2--, a cable insulation made of polyethylene, for example, and a cable shielding -4--. With the aid of an ultra-high voltage termination according to the invention --5 - the field strength at the end of the cable shielding is reduced to such an extent that no glowing and sliding phenomena can occur. For this purpose

--3 - homogeneously welded, - consists in which conductive polyethylene foils --8-- are inserted.
By applying pressure and temperature, these foils --7 and 8-- are welded to the polyethylene cable insulation --3-- in a pressure-resistant form. The polyethylene films --8 - used as tax deposits consist, for example, of semiconducting, irradiated polyethylene tape. A creepage-current-resistant shrink tube -9-is shrunk onto the cable lobe -6- produced in this way as external protection. At the two ends of the end closure -5-, several creepage-resistant shrink screens --10-- are shrunk onto the shrink tubing --9--.
In the example shown, three shrink screens-10- are arranged at each end closure. Both the shrink tubing --9-- and the shrink shields -10-- can consist of a jet-crosslinked polyolefin, for example a jet-crosslinked polyethylene.
Before the shrink shields are put on --10--, a copolymer tape is wound onto the shrink tubing. The heat required for shrinking on this band melts, so that the shrink screens-10-- and the shrink tubing -9-- weld to one another via this band. The shrink tube --9-- extends to the conductor --2-- protruding from the termination, so that a moisture-proof termination --2-- is created. Does the heat shrink tube --9-- have to be more than 50% of its

If the initial diameter is shrunk down in order to adhere to the conductor --2--, it is advisable to make it in two parts.
The combination of the capacitively controlled polyethylene cone with the creepage-resistant elements of shrink shield and shrink tubing made of radiation-crosslinked plastic creates a termination for high-voltage cables (voltage range 110 KV) that can be used without porcelain insulators in open air conditions.
