The invention relates to a sash frame made of metal, in particular aluminum, for windows or doors, consisting of a support frame with which glass retaining strips are releasably connected via brackets that are fixed at a distance from one another in an undercut groove of the support frame, which are releasably connected to a
Longitudinal strip rest under tension on the glass pane via an elastic seal, which is supported by an equally elastic seal against a contact leg of the support, the mounts being overlapped by two longitudinal webs of the glass retaining strips directed to the plane of the pane and one longitudinal web one
Clamping nose of the brackets engages behind.
Such a casement is known from the German patent application 1534786. The
Glass retaining strips butt against each other loosely at the four frame corners, so that sealing problems arise here.
The retaining strips lie with their longitudinal web engaging behind the clamping nose of the brackets on the
Support frame. The tilting moment created by the counterpressure of the seal is therefore absorbed by the support frame.
The latter thus forms the static support for the glass retaining strips, while the brackets merely represent a kind of tie rod that is intended to prevent the glass retaining strips from being shifted outwards perpendicular to the plane of the window pane. Since the glass retaining strips must therefore rest on the supporting frame profile over their full length, the width of the latter must correspond to the total width of the sash. This construction is not only expensive due to the voluminous profiles it creates, but also relatively bulky.
Due to the wide-area support between the glass retaining strips and the support frame, insulation between these two parts to prevent heat transfer is practically impossible. But it would also be useless, since the supporting frame profile forms both the outside weather front and the inside of the room. This
Construction therefore does not allow for insulation.
The invention is therefore based on the object of the sash frame explained above with regard to the
Improve sealing and thermal insulation.
This object is achieved according to the invention in that the glass retaining strips form a one-piece retaining frame, the inner longitudinal web of which has the clamping lug designed as a detent approximately in cross section
U-shaped brackets engages behind, while the outer longitudinal web is supported against a step of the brackets, and that the undercut groove is limited to the edge of the glass pane by a support leg of the support frame serving as a support for the glass pane or its blocking elements and with a beveled bar Undercut forms.
An essential difference compared to the previously known construction is that the glass retaining strips form a one-piece retaining frame. The frame corners are thus closed and ensure an excellent seal and at the same time a visually pleasing appearance. The new holding frame forms the essential part of pressure glazing. With this type of pressure glazing, the glass pane is inserted from the outside of the weather and rests against the contact leg, which is formed in one piece with the support frame, via a seal. Only after the glass pane has been adjusted in its position by conventional blocking elements is the one-piece holding frame pressed onto the brackets. The holding frame therefore applies the entire sealing and washer clamping force.
Another essential feature of the new sash is that the one-piece holding frame does not touch the support frame at any point. The support frame therefore needs practically only to be made half as wide as the support frame profile of the previously known construction. The tilting moment resulting from the reaction force of the elastic seal is absorbed by the step of the bracket.
The latter thus not only serve as tie rods as in the previously known embodiment, but they also form the sole load-bearing element for the entire holding frame.
This results in decisive advantages in terms of thermal insulation: The only direct connection between the holding and support frames is the spaced apart brackets.
Since the support is located exclusively on the inside of the room, a temperature transfer from the outside to the inside and vice versa can only take place via the brackets mentioned. This transmission is therefore already relatively small from the outset and can advantageously be further reduced by providing the base of the brackets that engages in the groove of the support frame with an insulating jacket made of plastic.
In the drawing, an exemplary embodiment of the invention is shown in cross section.
Then the new casement consists of a support frame --1-- and a holding frame - 2--, which are connected to each other via brackets --3-- and together form a glass pane - 4
EMI1.1
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
The brackets - 3 - have a foot - 13 - engaging in the groove - 11 -, which is provided with an insulating jacket - 14 - made of plastic in such a way that between the support frame - l - and the brackets, which are also made of aluminum - 3 - do not have any metal contact surfaces.
EMI2.1
on its side facing the groove -11- is provided with snap-in grooves -21- running in the profile direction. Corresponding profiles of the insulating jacket - 14 - the brackets - 3-- engage in this.
The manufacture and assembly of the new casement are extremely simple, especially since no screws or the like are required. The holding frame --2-- applies both the sealing force and the pane clamping force. By clipping the holding frame --2-- onto the brackets --- 3--, a pretensioning force is applied over the cover leg - 5 - and the sealing pressure strip-6-carried by this, which creates a seal between the holding frame and the glass pane the weather side and on the other hand the glass pane firmly against the seal --- 7 -'- and thus against the contact leg - 8 - of the support frame - l - presses. Displacements of the glass pane under pressure, suction and wind load are therefore excluded.
This results in the great advantage that the external seal formed by the sealing pressure strip 6 is not relieved and the set sealing force is always fully effective. Due to the adhesive properties of the seal -7-, the wind forces that arise are also transferred to the frame part when there is suction and the interior of the window is separated from the exterior.
The catch - 17 - has two incisions for the longitudinal cam-19 - of the holding frame-2 -. The first incision is used to pre-stretch the holding frame - 2--, while the second incision is used for the end position of the holding frame --- 2--, which is achieved by means of a mechanical press or the like.
Due to the special design of the individual parts, the relatively high clamping forces can be optimally absorbed. The reaction force resulting from the clamping force transmitted via the cover leg - 5 - is reliably applied to the stop surface via the lower longitudinal web - 18b - in a simple manner
EMI2.2
The glass pane is inserted from the outside of the weather. Before this, the stop leg-8, which is formed in one piece with the support frame-1, is fitted with the double-sided adhesive seal-7, against which the glass pane is then placed. The position of the latter is adjusted using conventional blocking elements.
The holding frame --2-- is then pressed onto the brackets --3-- or their snap-on elements --15--. Relatively high forces are required for this, which are expediently applied using a press. The new casement frames are therefore usually glazed at the manufacturer.
